It's a great song, Alex. And gets better with repeated listenings. It's in there with some other songs i am particularly listening to on my iPod and (rather than the usual - "damn i'm supposed to be doing something for this") I am blown away by how straightforwardly great it is. You might think there's a 'cheese' factor but it's well written, direct and clear. Bravo.
The B side to Dad's father's day present. This is an instrumental celebration of his 45 years in the printing industry, and an acknowledgement that while other kids got bedtime stories, I got the history of lithography..
Fathers often find ways of giving a part of themselves to their sons, and they do so in ways that can be baffling to the sons. Perhaps your father was doing that.
My dad was an engineer and a private pilot. He never told me a bedtime story, but he took my brother and me flying as often as he could. It was his way of showing his love.
Nice song, too.

Fantastically touching tribute - personal, tender, professional...
Less interestingly, this is probably my favourite of your songs (okay, apart from Calligraphy!!).

My take on Gumbo's Keep Your Eye On The Spot, one of many excellent tracks from his RPM2011 album 'Cat's Moustache'. It's something of a departure from the original, though I was trying to retain an element of the gospel so hopefully its soul…
RPM 2011 number 2. Inspired by an ex-friend of mine who had the most dazzling rose tinted glasses. Always used to envy the simplicity of his view and how nothing could ever get to him (everything gets to me).. since i knew him I know a lot of…
This song is sort of about making a clean break, killing off the lead character in your story and burying him along with all his sins before the inevitable happens, and the bad guy gets his. Initially came from a jam with my mate Ben Price who…
This is a song about finding momentary escape from the pain of loss.. and having it interrupted by the realisation that it's the anniversary of the day it all started;
Some days I get up
and I go to the park
and I sit in the dark
and I think…

I mostly wanted to make music with a funky clav line I'd come up with, so this is it. For the voiceover, I unabashedly used an awesome monologue by Ken Nordine.
This is a good place for me to be....it does me good to remember this.
God around me
God within me
there's nothing i need to fear
always remember you're here
Dedicated to my friend Paul Lennon.
Once You asked me
If I could see the end
It's okay to tell the truth
I don't want you to pretend
And I said I would not lie
But I don't believe it ends
It goes on And on Forever Forever
It goes on…
one of those 'it was written even before i started' songs that just rolls out like magic
i tried to keep it simple so as not to destroy the vibe
first finished (if unmixed) track for RPM 2010
Part one of a mini-musical within the album, that never quite felt finished...but we love the first chapter!
*update* this is now an official track on the album...poss. our feat. track!
The last track from my RPM Challenge album, "The Loudest Silence".
The story is loosely based on something I read, but there's a lot of poetic interpretation involved. It deals with people who spend a lot of time staring at the stars - like the…
A jazz tune featuring flute, sax, and one slightly out of whack Fender. All instruments played by Barry Morgan and the song was mixed and mastered in his home studio.
