A pop-rock thingy recorded in 2006. Can't remember too much about it except that it was a new song then, I spent an inordinate amount of time on the lyrics and arrangement, and wasn't that happy with it when I was done(!).
I quite like it now…
So I was locked in the broom-cupboard, checking out some old songs that need recording.
I'd just picked one and then suddenly this thing came out of nowehere. It started with one of those guitarist doodles that other musicians love so much…

Here it is in all of its glory...
THIS is the song that Mrs R and I had decided was a suitable response to a request to "Upload something HAPPY, stat!!!!!!!!!"
I tried to record it back in 2013 when I wrote it…

I was asked (told?) to upload something happy. Hmmm, I thought. This will end well...
So, a few days later, I was rehearsing a pleasant little thing I wrote several years ago that has a working title of "She Was…

Wow! Lovely mix of Leon Redbone, Joe Cocker and Tom Waits ringing through your voice particularly Cocker. Lovely peaceful and dark. Thanks as well for the kind words on my piece earlier Andrew, good to discover you!
This song has been sat on the marvellous mechanical mouse organ in the broom-cupboard for well over a year.
A few weeks ago I got a bit of a scare - the mouse organ nearly broke down (in the middle of sorting out Delta Dawn). While I was fixing…
This is one of the many songs going round my head from when I was young. No idea whose version I heard and used to sing along to back then, but it was written by Larry Collins and Alex Harvey.
(EDIT: Done some research. It was Dottie West's…
I was flapping around working on something else with just vocal and guitar the other day. It wasn't going well, so I just started slapping the guitar and singing one of my favourite songs.
What I didn't realise was that I was recording it…
This song's going on 32 years old...
Some 12 years older than I was when I wrote it!!
I borrowed the title from one of my favourite madrigals, The Silver Swan by Orlando Gibbons:
"The silver swan who living hath no note, when death approached…
It's no good Andrew, your music reminds me so much of Family, I absolutely love it. Having seen them so many times, I'm sorry to say, I'm off to Youtube to catch up on some Chapo ..... but like a good groupie, I'll come back to you. ( hope this don't make tongues wag )

Finally, at last... I've got something finished...
Been working on this for a few weeks.
A bit of a rocker... (and an aging lecherous one at that)
I got it as close as I could and then mixed it loud... I've over-cooked it slightly - but…
Over cooking is how I want to eat it up
Rocks brother man rocks so wide
Burn that into my unconsciousness
Smokes my rhino hide
That means ,I like it mikey

This is giving me all kinds of emotions. I'm a big Tom Waits fan and you managed to capture him (Maybe not intentionally) perfectly. Lyrics and production is Ace.

Wow! This one is sadness perfection. Your voice with its gravelly undertones - the perfect accompaniment to these lyrics. Mesmerizing.
And on a side note.... Moonlighting!!!! Ahhhhhh I loved that show. So. Much. Sexual. Tension..... and funny too. Loved it!
There seems to be a lot of it about - ukes - did everyone get them for christmas or something? Should I be getting one? (Used to have one years ago, the young Andrew rated it at the same level as a recorder - an "instrument of the devil" lol)
Expert use of the thing here, sir.
An old riff plus a late working shift combined to allow this to happen

RPM #2, first thank you all for the comments on rpm 1,, once again i forage into the world of midi orchestration,,, while i am beginning with strings and woodwinds,, this is a section from a string piece i am working on,, that somehow led me to…
Nice one. Me and the missus are watching Band Of Brothers again at the moment - for me, this has the same emotional kick to it that the B.O.B. theme has.
First of my rpm traks,, this year i am going to try to learn a bit about composing for midi orchestra, with that in mind i have began (in jan) to read several books on midi orchestration, orchestration and counterpoint,,, while these will probably…
Beware of following the link in the about while listening to the track!!!
It was 3 minutes before I realised I was listening to two things at once lol. I was thinking "this one is far too complex for me".
Now that I've listened to the solo piano - very cool piece :-)
Here we go, a tender little rocker from the broom-cupboard...

Yep, I was kind of going for 70s (early-mid 70s Slade was in my mind - bass and vocals, the rest fits where it can). I actually feared I had the drums TOO upfront for that!! lol
I tried and failed with a lot of percussion too - I felt it needed it. There's some tambourine, and some voices doing shaker noises - but none of it was good enough to come too high in the mix. What I really wanted was some clapping, but that didn't work at all!
#RPM Challenge 2013#
Oh it caught me by surprise
I Looked into your pretty eyes
Nothing more than a simple kiss
And a moment like this
We don’t need no fancy cars
Diamond Rings that shine like stars
You never really asked for more
Than moments…
New mix (24th Oct 2013).

Composed by Steffen Offermann & Errol Chugg
Guitar: Bobby Clohessy & Mark A. Shrider
Bass: Andreas Glummert
Drums: Ken Grover
A song that I wrote in the mid-90s, became a bigger number when my band 'Y' took it into the studio and we tightened it up a notch. Proud of this one (as of all of my babies) G:)
The story is of the actor on the stage...
A story of conflict between a couple. I played the part of the male, Shelagh (I think) was herself. Came together in the studio and was a favourite live.
Comments on Andrew Russe's stuff

Nice one. Been listening to quite a few of yours - I like the sounds you're making.
Cool track. Like that "swampy" guitar.
Oh YES - this is mighty mighty fine.
Faved from the intro... Sounded so sweet, and the lyrics looked good... luckily the track lived up to it all! Lovely song. Yep, winner.
Oh yeah, very well put together. Love that bass groove holding it down.
Nice one. Big vox!
lol - like it
Yep...
One of my (many!) favourite songs. Nice performance.
