So I was locked in the broom-cupboard, checking out some old songs that need recording.
I'd just picked one and then suddenly this thing came out of nowehere. It started with one of those guitarist doodles that other musicians love so much…

I can't quite believe that I'm posting this, or that I've even recorded it. But I've played it like this sat on the sofa in the living room for many years, and I needed something to check out how to record a live "one vocal and one guitar" song…

First new one from me in a long time.
Kind of a love song, I guess.
Recorded in my new "studio" (3rd bedroom in the new house). Almost up and running now... shine and don't stop wondering!

On my way…
THIS IS THE OLD YEURGH MIX - THERE IS ANOTHER ONE HIGHER UP THE LIST NOW, FULLY LOVED BY AR. THIS ONE IS LEFT HERE AS A MONUMENT TO SOMETHING OR OTHER (AND IN CASE YOU PREFER IT)
Acoustic ghost story. Recorded 2010.
Easter 2010 I decided…
Pop-rock song. Recorded 2009.
I wrote this several years earlier and rehearsed it with the last band I was in.
The recording was my first "serious" project on my Boss MBR, I was stunned that you could do something like this on a little silver…
A tale of keeping your head above the water, or not...
Recorded Jan-Feb 2011.
I wrote it many years ago, never thought I'd ever do anything with it.
I intended to record this with just an acoustic and my new EDB (electric upright bass…

Electric blues. Recorded 2007. I was learning how to use my DAW and trying to figure out how a one-man-band could get to sound like a bunch of old bluesers in a sweaty bar...

Well she don't mind crying…
Well I seem to have a few songs with dreams and oceans in them. But then I do live on the ocean.... and I do dream ... daydream. I bought a cheap yamaha acoustic guitar from a garage sale for $50 and decided to try recording a song with it. I…
I thought going into 50/90 that I would need to do some quick recordings of really simple arrangements. Maybe just acoustic guitar and voice. Nope, not really.
This isn't meant as filler. This idea is something I noodle on almost every…
You can probably interpret this song in a few ways, but the inspiration was based on a move across the country to start a new life. I find there's an interesting tension between settling into your new home and getting use to a new environment…
The verse is a 12-bar blues phrase, but the rest of the song isn't. Clever? Probably not. The lyrics are kind of about work stress, but maybe not completely. I can't really tell anymore. The guitars are all Stratocaster.
Mixed up confused…
Something tells me I'll be mixing this one again soon.
The lyrics here are specifically about 9/11, but I guess it would apply to any major event. I was just listening to the accounts of people who were there at the time and comparing their…
Nothing special about this one. The riff is kinda cheesy, and the lyrics are a lot cheesy. It has a pre-chorus section which is unusual for me. That's about the only thing that's interesting at all. The mix might be awful, but I was 99% asleep…
Now that my album Texas Tonefreak is almost "out of print", I'll be posting the tracks up here.
Kip Siewert on harmonica
Philip Waite on drums

I ended up buying myself a Tanglewood TGRD VS E for my birthday and this is it's first outing with an old Doors classic i'm not a 100% the lyrics are correct as i must admit i have been drinking so i have Regged it a little but it is a 100% live…
I wondered what you'd get - sounds like a good choice.
And this is a fine version - who cares whether the lyrics are accurate... "just get the title right and no-one'll notice!!"
Comments on Andrew Russe's stuff
Oh, that hit the spot!
Awesome recording, LOVE IT!!!
Don't normally like cover songs...unless they're turned on their head. And you have done a killer job...Great.
Straight out of the Commitments sound track I say.....Great track
Very amazing.
Good song all around. All the instruments interact well and the recording is clean. You have a great soulful tone to your voice.
I have the BR1600CD, I recorded almost all my stuff on it!
Some nice dynamics, sounds like a pretty polished pop rock tune!
Some excellent stuff here, nice one. :)
Top track mate.
I dig your voice...veey soulful.... Nice acapella version....
S-w-e-e-t Piepod I love it Andrew! LG
Great storytelling Andrew. Real nice recording.
Simply beautiful
Master class in minimalism. More doodles please.
Such an intimate sound. Wonderful vocal! Holding my breath while listening.
love it
Brilliant, soulful vocal! Well done! w;-)
Really cool track mate.
Yeah! Has a nice live sound to it, you nailed that.

Fabulous. Still loving that telecaster.
Free beer? I'm in :-) Wow... this rocks!
Flip, that works... I wouldn't have thought putting drums on afterwards (with no click) would be the easiest option.
Aww, gorgeous sounds. And, actually, I can't hear that it's a cheap guitar. Sounds fabulous.
Love it. How did you get the bass sound? Please don't tell me you actually have an acoustic double-bass... (not allowed one here!!)
Wow - wot a sound... I was knackered by the end! Loved the burp
Very tasty. I always start in an acoustic mood, and then something just comes over me and I get all Roy Thomas-Baker about it...
Like the organic feel... a lot.
Trippy - like it :) You got drums!!! *jealous* I'm not allowed them - no space in Mrs R's office/writing-room, apparently...
And another nice one... you're a LOT more productive than I am!! At least I've got some time for doing some listening now...
Nice one :-)
Wa-ay too short though!!
Go Jimi! :-)
Oh yes, nice one.
Nothing wrong with kinda cheesy! Cool playing.
Bluesy, jumpy, what more could a chap ask? And I'm loving the sound of that harp too.
"just" an instrumental!! haha! Killer stuff. Did you leave *any* ideas on the cutting room floor?! Love it.
Aww yeah... More! MORE! :)
Oh wow!! Short (too short!) but SWEET... Fabulous guitar sound and playing.
