Quite by accident I was listening to Chris Vaisvil's time stretched piece and had the improvFriday player going at the same time. It was like that chocolate and peanut butter thing, you know? So here is Chris' Out of My Body used as a backdrop…
I happened to be in MD one summer when the 17 year cicadas came out to make their noise. Walking around I felt I was on the set of an old sci-fi flick set on an alien planet.
This brought me back.
@Mannequin
Yes sampled the cicadas at daughters soccer practice. Found they are only active certain times of the day (8pm in this case). The sound they make is the embodiment of summer for me.
A lonely, slow, tune... with a forlorn and sometimes tense distorted guitar (actually my bass). Good music to listen to as you zone out and stare into space.
Sorry for the quality - just a rehearsal recording I needed to share with some folks who will be playing with me on Sunday. This is fun - actually have real musicians to play with!
@02bfree-no ebow used. I did use a slide. @kirklynch-I think I was using the pingpong delay setting on the DL4, a customized patch I use on ALOT of BL stuff. Thanks all.

I have a brain that I must keep busy
I have a heart with too many hurts
And I have a house with too many memories
My life is broken but somehow it still works
And I have a dream that wakes me up crying
I feel…
Chris sent this track to me earlier today with the request that I add some percussion to it.
I had something different in mind.
After the first take I was afraid to return it to him, fearing that he would convert it to 23 edo or something…
Cascadia is the first solo work written and recorded by Andrew Davis. This funky instrumental blend of folk, rock and jazz features mandolin, acoustic and electric guitar, banjo, bass, and varied percussion. Enjoy!
Instrumental Acoustic Guitar.
Written in 2010 for the wedding of a very good friend of mine, Jason. It was the processional, playing while the wedding crew walked down the aisle. Played it with montgomeru (who also wrote the recessional…

I created this for the film DARK BLOOD.
The film River Phoenix was working on when he died.

Signifies 'Day', second of the two part drone release under the moniker 'Bigotry'.
Usually it goes Day->Night, but because of the dark nature overall, decided to put this track after. The intro provides some soothing, followed by the dusk…

Neat! This is inspiring me to dig out the DL4 and start playing electric again
Pretty swanky.

Nice pace and mood you created here.
Norm's percussion is really up front here and really the main instrument, I like that.
The production is murky, yes, but eerily haunting. Reminds me of Popol Vuh.
Lovely, brooding ambience.
Hypnotic!
Good take, and the production is perfect for that. Love Woody.

Good 'un JMT
Good jammin harp and guitar. Now let's hear that 23 edo version :)
Like the newgrass sound of this, with the distorted guitar. Cool stuff Andrew!
Interesting, very plaintive, minor key for a wedding march, but beautiful. Nice to hear of your return to guitar.
Real tasty Tipu.
@kirklynch right you are sir, C6 tuning, 12 string strummed with a paint brush and processed.
Simple and effective!
Nice. Some Dire Straits overtones there.
Nice little ditties JMT. Been reading Ginsberg?
There are no mistakes, only intentions. I think Robert Fripp said that. I like it as is.
Wonderment. You captured the moment.
Nice drones and counterpoint!
thanks yawl, your kind comments makes me wanna do a remix to fix some levels.
