Dedicated to my friend Paul Lennon.
Once You asked me
If I could see the end
It's okay to tell the truth
I don't want you to pretend
And I said I would not lie
But I don't believe it ends
It goes on And on Forever Forever
It goes on…

As with pretty much all of our stuff, it's all recorded live with microphones.... Plenty of overdubs, but no samples, loops, or what have you. Treefrog on the drums, me on the rest of it.
Thanks for the comment, Star, and welcome to Alonetone! ~ Michael

The first WildGeas and Cave Street collaboration
There ain't nothin' I could buy
that can ever calm me down
So I leave my money at home
when I go into town
I put on my fightin' hat
an' I wear my dancin' shoes
An' if I miss my ride…
You've got the buttons
that are made out of my bones
You've got the ghost of me
that still can stitch them on
And ev'ry time you close your vest
you will hold me near
But that's as close as I'll ever get
to you my dear, I fear
Up in…
On this beach made of sand and shells
and broken hearts
as with so many things in this life
it ends where it starts
And like the waves that will roll over me
you take away everything that I see
So I walk to the place where the sand
and sky…
You've got the buttons
that are made out of my bones
You've got the ghost of me
that still can stitch them on
And ev'ry time you close your vest
you will hold me near
But that's as close as I'll ever get
to you my dear, I fear
Up in…

"I'll know it when I see it"
Is what she finally said
"If there was some other way
I'd do that instead"
And blindly without question
I followed down that trail
That led into the hidden night
Beyond the parted veil

I'm still getting around to re-upping everything I took down last October.... this is one of them, and if I recall correctly, this is the track that was the impetus for Paul & I to start collaborating. (Something I've been missing a lot…

still think your vocals sound like mark lanegan. You got that mysterious folk sound. If you don't listen to him, listen to him. The winding sheet from around 1990 atleast.

This song…
Ring of Fire - lyrics by Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash -1963. Slightly modified.
This wasn't meant to be Ring of Fire but that's how it wound up.
I have been wanting to trash Ring of Fire and the words just seem to fit this simple 1-4-5…
@Terrapin - I do like to double (or more)the vocal tracks... On this track it's an acoustic guitar, an electric through a line6 swell effect, and an old yamaha analog keyboard....
This is pretty cool! I'd really like to read more about these tracks. If you have the time, maybe you could add some info to the "about" section for each song.
Enjoying your music Steve.... I recently signed up at ImprovFriday and hope to be able to contribute something in the near future. Interesting that the time listed for this track is 2:51 and yet it played until 4:38. I don't think I've ever seen alonetone do that before.
More LoopShifted piano accompanied by Stylus RMX and Omnisphere. At over eight minutes it's perhaps a little self-indulgent but maybe it's more like punting down the river Styx than jet-skiing on a lake of fire.
Frustrated with how slow my solo acoustic/vocal songs are going, I decided to spend the weekend making something chilled out, just to relax myself and to let people know I haven't died.
Its a short instrumental track. I call this minimalist electronica…
This track hasnt started off sounding anything like this. I had a drum beat in my head, so I keyed it into my laptop, then edited it around and it ended up like this.
then i recorded everything, and just as i was about to save it.. EVERYTHING…
Its a song that was inspired by a dream I had. In fact.. it was the soundtrack to the dream. The ending is purposely left with a feeling of being not finished, as I can't remember how the dream ended.
I hope you all like it :)
this was originally a song about breaking through paradigms but turned into a song about a girl.
Keys and string samples from Korg, MIDI with the old Ensoniq,
one diving board.
Thanks for the listen ,enjoy... RW

Very peaceful groove! Did you record the instrumentals live or produce them through software?

One of my favorites. Then again, they are all my favorites. Great tune bro.
Conjures up a dark image in my mind. I wish I could shoot the video for this one. She would be wearing black.
Real nice atmospheric feel here. Smooth and deep. Def not a throwaway. PS. I put up the lyrics to my "Cricket Song" for your viewing pleasure. Thanks.

Cool track!
NICE!
Psychedelic!
Interesting choice for the last piece... a bit of a wake up following the chill out of the previous songs. Dig the drums. Another top track.
I agree with Kirk regarding note choices. Quite jazzy. Well done!
More groovy bass! These pieces go very well together, a very nice EP you've put together here.
A nice moody piece.
