Been a while since I did any vocal tracks, but this one called out for it. I've been getting into vocal rounds a lot lately, need to explore more of this sort of thing.

2-3-14 Improv with new acoustic & new delay/looper. By the end of the month I'll probably have two or three albums worth of outtakes of this kinda stuff. Haven't even scratched the surface…

2/24/14 - It turns out to be the opening track on this year's RPM submission. Even with it's unpredictable, 'catch me if you can' tempo changes this is probably…

Thanks for listening guys! I'm a little disappointed with my mix, may have to try again. Don't get much time with the deck these days & I'm a bit rusty. I've been having a great time doing improvs with my new looper, but sadly nearly all the jams go unrecorded....
The first of 4 tunes coming your way with
the spotlight on my friend "Michael Thomas of Cave Street"

This one is my favorite and chills me every time I hear it.
It never, ever, gets old.

Thanks for the comment, I dig your stuff too.... reminds me of Explosions in the Sky, one of my favorite bands. Maybe I'll stick around for a while longer & check more of your stuff out.

Tomorrow (Lyrics)
I know the curse of the darkness is coming
those dark nights that will feed upon my soul
with no forward glance of tomorrow…
"The expression that there is nothing to express, nothing with which to express, nothing from which to express, no power to express, no desire to express, together with the obligation to express." (From Samuel Beckett, Three Dialogues, "Tal Coat")
man, words fail... *this is so free & swingin'*
the only way this could get better is to hear it played on real horns & strings.
I just can't click that favorite button enough!
Dead soldiers from the war (pick one) gather together for old times' sake, ideally at the local tavern in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. Which may or may not put Sleepy Eye on the map ....
This is quite as inspirational as any late period Zappa or Fripp ProjeKCts.... very heady stuff... I don't even know why I'm writing.
*shutting up now*
(OK just read your profile.... awesome list of influences, I will definitely be checking out more of your stuff)
I'm trying to experiment with intentionally combining two different sounds. Since I seem to find this difficult I am starting with using a drone as one of the sounds taking my inspiration from the opening tracks of the Brian Eno & Jah Wobble…
Another one from my ambient crackpot series.
This features two instances of my new instrument the Novaphone 340 Imperial. A grand name for a grand instrument (Xylo just didn't do it justice).
The first Novaphone is playing three samples…
There's a good reason most of Dirty Dan and the Family Band's music features the guitar. It's because his keyboard and trumpet players don't know what they're doing.
I wrote this song as a class project for "Quantum Reality and the Spiritual Quest" at the U of A. My basic idea behind it was to try and relay the wave/particle duality of light through musical terms.
Mama Corn is popular with several distinct audience types. Fully capable of pleasing the most finicky traditional audience with favorites from Flatt & Scruggs, The Stanley Bros, and Bill Monroe, the band is also very popular with Americana…
Why is it that every 10th or so comment that I make seems to disappear into a black hole?? Though I guess it's somewhat appropriate in this case, since the awol comment I made was suggesting a new name for this song (per Kavin's suggestion --- though I'm not entirely sure this is a better name).
My vote: *Schwarzschild Surfin'*
Think about it....
I took a week off work to do some music, and what with the riots, and a huge alcoholic binge having massively negative effects on my hedmeds, I haven't felt an ounce of creativity/positivity. rather pure misery. so i didnt even bother trying Monday…
