I came up with the initial rhythmic riff on my bass, then looped it to create the basis for this track. Then, I layered another "lead" bass track on top of that, added some percussion, and finally topped it off with an electric piano-ish sound…
I imagine this music playing in a bar sometime in the future, probably in the background while cybernetic bar patrons interface with one another in full view of the world's sensor network.

This dark reggae tune has been hanging around in my "works in progress" folder for a while, but I was finally inspired to complete it when I borrowed a guitar from my friend Joe. Thanks, Joe!

Chorus is NSFW. Inspired by responses to one of my Facebook status updates requesting suggestions for song ideas. I incorporated all of the ideas offered. Took less than 2 hours, start to finish, to write and record. I really like the synth melodies…
This track was my attempted submission for Ramen Music #001. I finally got around to uploading it here.
It was made using several instances of the Max for Live instrument "Loop Shifter" that I played in real-time using my Novation Launchpad…
Felt the need to go back to something more sound driven.
I've been learning a lot of new Jazz chords and wondered what they might sound like as pads. I ended up creating a device chain in Ableton Live featuring Alchemy, Omnisphere, and Absynth…
An instrumental I recorded several summers ago on a Taylor 110, using Audacity and a computer mic. in a Purdue dorm room. I originally called it "my love," but it reminds me more of looking at a bright day through a window... so... there you have…
Recorded in 2008.
Fuzz guitar through an old DDL into a pitch transposer, recorded in one pass with no edits or overdubs.
Just a minute noodle doodle, really, but it's gonna go somewhere.
Honest!
Recorded in 2005.
The keyboard sound in the second half is a backwards electric piano processed through a triggered filter (kind of like a Mutron III).
Muted the vocals cos I'm not too pleased with the lyrics or performance.
Recorded in 2006.
Joe Silence - guitars, beats, vocals
Mark Cook - fretless and 12-string basses
Originally written by Russell Cowser.
New arrangement and additional material by Joe Blair.
Came up with this Before bed last night.
Had to record it this morning so I wouldn't forget the Sound of it...
Live recording
I'll do a better version when I have more time...
Well.... Off to work for me...
This is…
Today, the Ableton folks surprised us all with the release of 8.2 which came with a new plugin called Amp. Of course, that meant a bunch of presets to explore...
Without aiming to do anything, I happened on these four presets (played simultaneously…
Here's to insignificance my friend. May you never be squashed like a bug.
Instruments used: Kontakt, LoopShifter, Stylus RMX
Effects used: Eos, DubStation, Replicant, Augustus Loop
Very raw, completely improved piece. One track, one take.
Guitar -> GT-10 -> JamMan Stereo
A touch of Discord 3 was added as a send effect. Limiting on the master track. Et voila.
Sorry about the clipping.
Recommended listening…
Had to do this one on the fly before an open mic night....
Sorry about the quality...
Came up with the song this morning ......
One take... GTR+MIC on one tracks (doubled up), Played live....
Not much time to record music or…
yelyah - “solo piano 20100411” semi live improv
Semi live in that I had an idea of where I wanted to go, but never locked the melody in (as is probably obvious).
Another slice of Reaktor based weirdness from the particle collider ensemble I am tentatively naming TMA-2.
You can't tell from how it sounds I guess but the latest development is that particle energy now governs velocity, i.e. more energetic…
This is made with a very experimental Reaktor instrument I am building.
It uses a very simple particle collision model with 64 particles in a 100x100 box. When two particles collide they trigger a sampler to play a slice of either of two samples…
I can definitely hear the Dune soundtrack in this. Nice work on the Reaktor instrument! It'll be interesting to hear what else you end up doing with it.
Took sandbag's [Andromeda 1](http://alonetone.com/sandbags/tracks/andromeda-1) and applied some BigSeq2 and LiveCut.
Added a little FM8 underneath.
And this happy little accident came out.

I love the chill/stoner vibe of this!
Hahaha, guess what? Something very similar happened in a game released last year. The tracks are different, but the atmospheres remain strong.
I love it when I find something in favorites I haven't heard in ages and it's even better than I remember. Super track!
Well done!
Whoa!! Thanks again for another brilliant track!
Clever stuff! The music is perfect for the subject. Most fascinating.
Pretty cool, pretty dark, pretty hypnagogic. Love the understated beats and synth.
This is a great track! Really nice.....
double "G" double "O" vy. Nice.

Lovely crackles in this one. Tons of wonderful textures.
Someone kept ringing the doorbell, but then I realized it was the drummer. +100 points for drum solo.
Billowy. Those sounds layered quite nicely!
Wonderfully relaxing. Love the fuzzy tone!
Listening to this, I'm imagining sparks flying off Tesla coils. Electric!
Very peaceful and contemplative. Enjoyed it!
I can see a whole series of Fazzercize videos being created as a result of this track.
Great background conversation! Lots of fun to listen to this.
Any song about sherpas gets a +1.
Lovely. That plugin is big mojo!
Missed hearing your tunes. Another good one!
Love these sounds! You made a wonderful fuzzy pillow of them.
I can feel vacuum of space sucking the eyeballs out of my sockets even as I type this.
Oops, last comment was from me.
Muy excellente! (And playing with conviction and passion makes up for any lack of recording perfection, IMO.)
Good soundtrack for my vegetative state this morning. :)
Great rumbling texture. Nice work!
Reminds me of the voice of Shodan, the AI in the System Shock series of computer games. :)
I can definitely hear the Dune soundtrack in this. Nice work on the Reaktor instrument! It'll be interesting to hear what else you end up doing with it.
Nice remake!
