Jimmy, I like this one. You mentioned the other day, that you might consider adding some cello to one of your new songs... ??? This version is only 2:09... seems to me... there might be plenty of room for a few bars of cello instrumental to float around between the words! But you know me... I have often mentioned to you, how good some of your instrumentals really are... and I have often thought that you, yourself, under appreciate yourself... when it comes to your own instrumentals. Good song... JohnQ

Shrimping south of Texas City
In her eyes I could see chaos
In her voice I heard confetti
In her purse I found the lip gloss

I wonder if your objective was to get a little attention from Harriet?

Texas Water might be the only trio besides The Browns to do this song in the later part of the twentieth century. By Jacque Brel via the Browns.

For years and years and years... this was the only JMT album I owned... this was the only JMT album that I knew existed; and this has always been one of my "most favorite" songs... not just one of my favorite JMT songs... one of my most favorite songs ever. I loved Barbara's voice and her timing and her range... and how she sang the song so... realistically. It was as if she and I were actually having this exchange in some noisy crowed smoke filled lounge. I never meet Barbara in person... but I knew her for years and years and years, Bye' Barbara... you are remembered.
Thanks for the comment James! I love your story about your Senior year.
This "Skating" song is fun to listen to. I'm on my second time thru. Definitely unique!
Another old one. I sort of call it my 'Ram' moment !!! As if !! Anyway, I can remember I wrote this 3 or 4 weeks after my mother passed away. Yeh, I know, a strange song to write, I like to think I was celebrating her life. She was a great Mum…
Terry, Just so After "Sleep" is not a complete mystery, that entry is music and f/x I'm submitting for scene a movie. With the sound track and the picture it all makes perfect sense.
Don't know what to say about this. I fell out with God a while back, and still find the whole notion of a God pretty disturbing. So this song is something about how I relate to God now. No peace and unconditional love - more an insidious sense…
Jip and JB in the Jipster studio, sitting down with guitars and a few beers, and many laughs. It was almost abandoned at one point, but we pressed on. Here's the result. I don't think the mouse has a name.

Spring time comes, the Robins sing

A remake of an old song, this is my version as I wrote it. Going to get the Good wife to record her version. Fight, Fight !!! Looking back Imspired of course by the Good wife, also we had just saw The Jersey Boys on stage at the West End. What…
A folksy number inspired by the stories my nan told me many moons ago about her uncle Herbie..
Herein lies the story, of a man named Herbie Jones.
Not a million miles away from a man you might have known.
A miner in the twenties, blue scars…
Like your sound. Maybe a tad less f/x on your voice. I want to understand your words. What are you recording on? (jamesmichaeltaylor@jamesmichaeltaylor.com)
It aint like no ones done this before
But how can you tire of beautiful chords
In the fifties
In Tenessee
Where my love
was born

crossed the yard

Way, way back I read an article in the newspaper about a little old lady who embezzled money from the bank and wound up in Brazi, living the good life with her boyfriend. Fans seem to like this song.

The lyrics are so descriptive and visual, such as the lipstick from NYC. Did you read about a suicide or make up the song from scratch? Jeff P

What a gorgeous voice Barbara had and what a touching song. John O'Malley

A bit of a departure from your usual reflective messaging. This one is a real toe tapper.
First chuckle of the day! This has to be the only song I ever heard about an “Owie”. I wonder if your objective was to get a little attention from Harriet?
Harriet is a school nurse. She says this is a good song.
Beautiful with descriptive imagery. Nice song.
I ;ove the way y'all did that.

Cool vibe eerily married to the dark content... I kind of want more verses to see what happens!
