a long way to go

performed by Jon Freeman
from the album “Sunny, sorta…”

between you and the moon
and the road behind
I’d sleep in the hay every day
a small comfort I’ll find
between you and the moon
and the horses come crashing
as you hide in the woods, it’s no good
he will find you
if only all could be solved
by a boy and a bottle
between you and the moon
and the road ahead
it’s a long way to go, you must know
failure isn’t an option
if only all could be solved
by a boy and bottle
3000 miles on one side
becomes 900 miles on the other
it’s daytime, it’s nighttime, confusing
but it’s all to save my mother
if only all could be solved
by a boy and bottle

I like this cut. Its dark and reminds of Alice in chains.

Well this is pretty amazing too - not heard it before. Great song and lyrics. But yeah, what a voice.

It's one of my favorite tunes well beyond alonetone. The world needs this tune....this album.

I couldn't put this demo down. Great vocal melody Jon. Seriously good.

I love the lyrics - in fact, the song-writing is amazing throughout this album, B. Really dig the moody arrangement here and Jon's voice is soulful and gritty in all the right ways - a perfect song choice for him...and his vocal on "to save my mother", just wow!
