Sitting around in my shop a couple of days ago with the Goodall and the Zoom H4N. First time I've really messed with using the internal mics on the H4N in multitrack mode
Last of the archives for now. A set of reels from the Last Nights Fun album. I did pipes, whistle and guitar on the last tune in the set. There's a live version of this up here too. This is the studio cut
An unusual traditional tune from the first Scartaglen album way back in 1984. Going through stuff the other day and ran across the LP and couldn't even remember the tune or having recorded it. I played guitar on this track

Kirk,
This is Greg Zenitsky. You likely won't remember me but I was a student at UMKC in the early 80's and I made a couple of recordings of Scartaglen as part of a project in Tom Mardie's audio recording classes. I believe one of the tunes was Metal Man. Is this cut from that tape by chance? I misplaced my tape copies years ago before having the opportunity to make digital copies. Regardless, I hope this message finds you well. Always enjoyed your music!

More from the way back machine. A set of polkas from the 1992 Scartaglen album "Last Nights Fun". Former band mate Mike Dugger wrote the first 2 tunes and I can't remember where we got the last tune. There is a live version of this up here. This…

Solo acoustic finger picking thing I've been working on for a while. Sometime around 1968 I started studying with Mr. George Bennett who taught me the rudiments of finger picking. Later when we played some gigs together he also taught me the rudiments…

I've been thinking about lost time and if you can make up for it...
LYRICS:
Hey there
How do you do?
Allow me to introduce myself
Before
I think I knew you
Wondered if you were doing well
The things we left behind
were never led astray…
inspired by the Talisman by Stephen King/Peter Straub, 1 of 12 songs that take you on a journey across your mind on a quest to save the dying queen, and recorded by some amazing artists.

i didn't think that this had uploaded last night so it was a nice surprise to see the four lovely comments :) thank you...
its hard to describe what this is about...a very personal moment...sometimes it replays in my memories...
Well, screw the metronome, damn the torpedoes, and grab a capo!
Sometimes the best versions are the ones played fast and loose. Hope you enjoy this song adapted from one of my all-time favorite poems (I'm a bit biased since my dad wrote it…
This is my contribution to the Angie Fights Crime project titled "Sunny Sorta"...." It's 12 songs written by A.F.C. and performed by 12 different artists.
I chose Honky Tonk Prison because I knew it would rock and roll :)
So CRANK IT UP…
A song about loss and the change it brings in a family; this was actually a live edition recording and I think it has something that the polished version does not. Enjoy!
I had this mellow tune hanging around when I heard "Love is Life" by The Two Regs and thought I need to catch the other Reg while he's around.
Lucky for me he had the time, the voice, and the melody. We created this lovely tune.
I was electrified…
