This is a live cut from an NPR radio broadcast back in 1988 while my Irish Trad group Scartaglen was on one of its first east coast tours. Found recently on a cassette tape. Musically this was one of my favorite periods in the history of the band…
From the archives. Traditional Irish slow air. Myself on the Uilleann pipes with synth backing. This was recorded at a concert here in Weston back in I think '92. Originally recorded on an ancient 4 track machine and then transferred to cassette…

This is excellent ... wow. What a great arrangement and fantastic, powerful playing. I love the entrance of different instruments along the way and the use of low, sustained drone notes. Most of all, though, I like the "soul" and liveliness of the piece. I would have loved to hear your group live!

Started out be an innocent little jazzy study in quartal harmony, but the DL4 was still in my signal path and things went downhill from there! Another done with my beloved '58 Stratotone

An experiment I recorded yesterday with a rig I put together for more or less ambient sounds using two loopers and nearly every effects unit I own. I have no idea who Clark was but he owned the '58 Harmony Stratotone that I used on this cut. His…
Another in my series of experiments with the Reaktor ensemble Metaphysical Function.
I used two instances of Metaphysical Function to generate a soundscape that was bounced to audio, chopped up, and re-arranged.
The whole thing was rather…
If you're a Lou Reed fan, you may like this. As I developed the melody, I just cracked up about how my sound came out! I decided not to fight it...
It's still very rough. I'll return to this one, when I get some time. But most will understand…
Another experiment with the Reaktor ensemble 'Metaphysical Function' this time directly in Reaktor (no DAW) using the recorder box to output direct to AIFF.
I spent some time creating my own sample bank for Metaphysical Function and started…

so this was a song sitting around for a while, didn't know what to do with...common occurrence. anyways, i wanted to create a song that had a bit of a 'grainy' vinyl feel to it, with nice, slightly distorted highs…
One of my favorite songs of all time and one of my favorite voices.
Thanks M.T.
My Skin
Some days I’m fine
Yeah some days I feel sublime
All the time
But then there’s days
I wanna crawl out of my skin
And leave it in

Another experiment with the Reaktor ensemble 'Metaphysical Function' only a bit longer this time.
Again Reaktor is the only instrument at work here although it's going through a mastering chain including Space Designer with a very short impulse…
Instrumentation: fretless bass, tabla, acoustic and distorted acoustic guitar, hang drum samples (courtesy of Sudara), soft synth (AAS Ultra Analog), ambient sample of the jungle (pitched down two octaves) a sprinkle of ebow (from my Sudara files).

Listened to the whole album and enjoyed your playing. Will be back for more. Happy New Year. ER
Still nice, one of my favorites. Is that a tune Seamus Ennis played? My Irish record collection has gotten quite dusty...
This so rocks! Must be from a few years before I met you.
