I’m very pleased with how the lead guitar break came out on this Political Folk song. The rocket being launched at the song’s intro is Apollo 11, carrying Neil Armstrong and company to Luna.
GOING TO TAKE A LOT
I’ve been watching for some…
A Sea Shanty with a bit of Psychedelic seasoning. Guest artist Starry Nightmoth performs the “harmonica” on a Yamaha KB as the song fades out.
37 SAILS
Thirty-seven sails be a full rigged ship
Open up ye hatch and pour ye spirit down…
This is really nice! I'm not familiar with your music, Gene, so do you write lyrics and music? Are you a one-man-band? This is the first song I've heard, it sounds a lot like Gentle Giant. Beautiful! Thank you
One of my personal favorite recordings from the 52 song MYTHOPOETICA demo collection, even though there’s a sound quality issue (the bass had a bit of a buzz). This was my first time using a wammy bar – I liked it!
PLASTIC GIRL

This is the bonus track for "The Best of GEM" playlist.
APATHY AND GREED
Apathy and greed is in the human seed
"I need more, to Hell with you" we say so well
How we live and play to get us through the day
Til we hear the bell that summons…

One of my better Psych Folk recordings. Intro voice and keyboards by Starry Nightmoth. BG rhythm/drums generated using a Yamaha E313 KB. Lyrics, music and all other instruments and vocals are my fault.

Unconnected, re: noise reduction on I Lose Control v.2- if you want to, go ahead! I'd like to see what you're able to do. You can email it back to me at songsforthebroken@yahoo.com, and I will put it up and credit you. If you get any ideas while doing that and want to overdub something, feel free to do that as well! Thanks again for listening!

Have a problem with TV evangelists? You won’t have a problem with this number! This Psych Folk tune features Starry Nightmoth on church organ. The rhythm/drum track was generated using a Yamaha E313 KB, the rest is my fault.

Since you showed interest in my songs, I thought I'd check yours out too. But by god, this is impressive! Reminds me of 'Treasure Island' - one of my most favourite books of all time. Thank you for creating this. I love, love, love this.
for Gene's contest...great title and inspiration!!
“How To Assemble Your Android”
Yesterday a box of parts came to my front door
I thought she came assembled, ready to be my whore
Tore the box apart and to no one’s surprise I was missing…
Just listen in headphones. Very juicy. You really did a great job with this, Colleen -- the headphones prove you know how to mix it up! Good, clean, fun mastering job -- I'm impressed!
In one hour or less - with mallets.
I guess I'm just the guy to do the mechanical, electronic, energized, futuristic version :)
The end is the best part.
Great on headphones! A fabulous, delicious, fun compilation of "mechanical, electronic, energized, futuristic" sounds. Very clever, witty story told in sound effects. High five, Dude!
Clean mix down, superb execution and delivery of vocals and instruments, both guitars and the drums and keyboard samples too. The mix down and mastering is top notch. Delicious!
This is my cover of the Twin Peaks Theme, "Falling."
I've always adored the vibe of this series. This is my attempt to capture how it makes me feel. The original has music by Angelo Badalamenti and lyrics by David Lynch.
You'll have to be…
Had to play it again, with the volume turned up, to realize that the banjo sample is actually coming into play a lot earlier than I first recognized. This is a really happening mix down that needs to be heard at high volume. GREAT JOB!

Hey, it's been a while hearing something new from you! What a treat! It's a groovy beat with some happening, psychedelic background sounds adding color and flavor. Fabulous! Is that a banjo at the end? Very groovy, very cool.
"...used to treat schizophrenia (including adolescent schizophrenia), schizoaffective disorder, the mixed and manic states of bipolar disorder, and irritability in people with autism."
Warning -- listening to this mix down may cause weight gain, diabetes, and death in people with dementia. :D
A powerful, mind-bending mix of sounds. It gets under the skin. Righteous!
Out of nothing is eventually generated something -- that's how we all got here, right? So 6-6=1, if you give it time -- except there was no time-space continuum before the Big Bang... I'm confused, what were we talking about again? Oh yeah, another cool compilation of delightful sounds, mixed down in a marvelous fashion.
There's a '60s Motown flavor to this one, while yet clearly wrapped in a Collective Noun sound. It'd be interesting -- to me, anyway -- to hear a vocal track to some of these groovy mix downs.
Again, it is that busy bass that delights me most. You're a very talented percussionist as well. And your gift at the keys is a psychedelic one. But you know your way around the guitar neck as well. Fabulous.
At first I thought I was hearing a bass line that could have backed up Bob Dylan or Jimi Hendrix on "All Along the Watchtower," but the guitar and keys kicked in and took everything to another dimension. And the keys and guitar blend so magically together. Colorful! Happening!
That's some impressive percussion work! Fun keys, interesting bass, wicked scale on the guitar. You are having a blast putting all these tracks together, I can tell. Digging your talent at performing on these instruments and at mixing down and mastering the sound.
a bit dark, a bit jazzy, a bit funky -- not too much of any one thing, but a nice blend of various seasonings. A very professional, tasteful compilation.
I hear this and in my funky mind I see vampires, werewolves, and zombies dancing together in a lonely street under the light of the full moon. Come on, that scene would be as groovy and trippy as it would be scary, no? Again, Rock on!
A chicken corndog would give me the Blues! Reminds me of the Deep Purple-era of Rock music. Digging the drums, bass, keyboards, and guitar. Power! Rock on!
Comments on Gene Eric Mann's stuff
Lore of Spring, great material. Love your style.

I recall this one great to hear it again :)
good rendition!
I'm not ignoring you Gene, can't sign in.... again, waiting for it to be sorted out. Roger M Harris.

Very cool!

This production is particularly choice when heard through headphones. Great job, Ron. Choice sounds, well compiled and mastered.

Sultry -- hot, attractive, passionate -- and jazzy smooth.

There’s a bit of darkness in you, no doubt. But greys are colors too, right? Well, I'm no color tech, but I dig the shade of this number.

This would make for great background music in a James Bond movie.
I especially dig the bass runs in this one -- I love me some busy bass, but this one really gets around!
