I’m very pleased with how the lead guitar break came out on this Political Folk song. The rocket being launched at the song’s intro is Apollo 11, carrying Neil Armstrong and company to Luna.
GOING TO TAKE A LOT
I’ve been watching for some…
A Sea Shanty with a bit of Psychedelic seasoning. Guest artist Starry Nightmoth performs the “harmonica” on a Yamaha KB as the song fades out.
37 SAILS
Thirty-seven sails be a full rigged ship
Open up ye hatch and pour ye spirit down…
This is really nice! I'm not familiar with your music, Gene, so do you write lyrics and music? Are you a one-man-band? This is the first song I've heard, it sounds a lot like Gentle Giant. Beautiful! Thank you
One of my personal favorite recordings from the 52 song MYTHOPOETICA demo collection, even though there’s a sound quality issue (the bass had a bit of a buzz). This was my first time using a wammy bar – I liked it!

This is the bonus track for "The Best of GEM" playlist.
APATHY AND GREED
Apathy and greed is in the human seed
"I need more, to Hell with you" we say so well
How we live and play to get us through the day
Til we hear the bell that summons…

One of my better Psych Folk recordings. Intro voice and keyboards by Starry Nightmoth. BG rhythm/drums generated using a Yamaha E313 KB. Lyrics, music and all other instruments and vocals are my fault.

Unconnected, re: noise reduction on I Lose Control v.2- if you want to, go ahead! I'd like to see what you're able to do. You can email it back to me at songsforthebroken@yahoo.com, and I will put it up and credit you. If you get any ideas while doing that and want to overdub something, feel free to do that as well! Thanks again for listening!

Have a problem with TV evangelists? You won’t have a problem with this number! This Psych Folk tune features Starry Nightmoth on church organ. The rhythm/drum track was generated using a Yamaha E313 KB, the rest is my fault.

Since you showed interest in my songs, I thought I'd check yours out too. But by god, this is impressive! Reminds me of 'Treasure Island' - one of my most favourite books of all time. Thank you for creating this. I love, love, love this.
Is this a repost or did I not click on "send" when I commented on this before? well, either way, one of my favorites from you, most especially the lyrics, but for the guitar and vocals too.
I like how you execute them keys, emphasizing here and gently caressing there. Same with your vocals. You put feeling, real emotion, in what you do, in an age when too much of the music being made is flat, mechanical, plastic, and soul-less. Good job. Thanks for being real with the rest of us.

WATER
I was standing there just pumping gas and pissing on my tire
When I dropped my wallet. The situation's dire
I got water on my wallet and water on my shoe
Standing there at half a tank wondering what to do
It's kinda hard to zip…
Nice rift. Classic classic rock sounds. Reminds me of some AC/DC. If you're open to collaboration, there are plenty of talented, friendly artist on Alonetone who'd be happy to add some vocals and some mean, upfront lead guitar to this. But Bon Scott and Angus Young is all this fine track is lacking.
As for playing God, "I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together." ~ John Lennon -- Groovy lyric, righteous vocals, fabulous music. ROCK ON!
IF
If your heart must be broken
let it be by beauty
If in tears you be soakin'
let it be by music
If your silence must be ended
let it be by laughter
If your love must say good-bye
let it be in death
If your pockets must be empty…
This is really beautiful. It moves me. You do John sweet justice, and that means so much to me -- I loved the man and can appreciate your part in keeping his music fresh, new, and alive.
I’m not only Gene Eric Mann on Alonetone, but also Justin Otter Guy, Merry Bear, and Nightmoth. I hadn’t noted before your compliment here regarding my version of Runaway. Thank you for that. But you did a great job with this number. That middle KB break is tricky and takes some agile, dexterous fingers to execute properly, and you pulled it of nicely.
This is the extended version of the 35 second original...
Guitars and drums are so
helpful when one wants to express
despair and confusion
and despair....and confusion.

The music speaks the anger and the pain. You've got mad skills at using music to express your feelings. I'm sure in its own way the creations are also healing.
Comments on Gene Eric Mann's stuff
Lore of Spring, great material. Love your style.

I recall this one great to hear it again :)

Very cool!

Bwahaha! What a tale. Damn. Rock on, James.
You are a fountain of gorgeous compositions, ever flowing with sweet, refreshing sounds.
You got a mean, down-low dirty way with that guitar -- and that's how I like it.
I came back. That makes this a hit! ;)
Hot, groovy jam! Choice and tasty. Dig!

This is sooooo good -- I'm going for a second hit!
Cool vocals, sweet music, groovy lyrics.
These are particularly intelligent lyrics!
Oh, I somehow missed this one. Great job! You sure can tickle them keys!
Sweet -- groovy sounds, great execution.
