I went over to Reg's place the other day and he sort of scared me. He was out on his deck, pitching butts and spilling gin that he couldn't afford. He was a mess and had a crazed look in his eyes. I could tell he was ruminating again about…
In Argentina they say "in Argentina everything may change - except the tango", but I couldn't resist adding some percussion to this beautiful nuevo tango by Vincent Voois, composed in the style of Astor Pantaleon Piazzolla.
Check out Vincent…
Out on the lawn there arose such a clatter!
Sometimes, as they say, Christmas do come early. I found Johnny Stone's "Christmas Rock In Oz" under the tree and couldn't wait until Yuletide to unwrap it. What a rockin' gift! I know a bit about…
I was thumbing a ride along a hot, deserted Caribbean road. When Steve pulled up in this vintage pre-war Chevy, I was very grateful. It just so happened he was heading to the same cantina I was, so we kicked back with a pitcher of mojitos…

Not to start a George tribute, but here's a cover I did with Facemask93 that I really love. All I did was bass, backing vox and the drum pattern arrangement - I did feel a little like a dope trying to sing along with Rob's amazing voice, but will…
Ring of Fire - lyrics by Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash -1963. Slightly modified.
This wasn't meant to be Ring of Fire but that's how it wound up.
I have been wanting to trash Ring of Fire and the words just seem to fit this simple 1-4-5…
Came up with this Before bed last night.
Had to record it this morning so I wouldn't forget the Sound of it...
Live recording
I'll do a better version when I have more time...
Well.... Off to work for me...
This is…
warning!!! this is a long 10+ min instrumental
It's a piece about 4 years old that was my first attempt at using synth voices,, I am still looking for a good one,, if anyone knows.
The music itself is a tone poem, loosely dedicated to a children…
Good grief! I didn't realize until today that I had plagiarized the name of this song for one of my percussion tracks. Please accept my apologies. I named my track that because my studio was inundated with the little buggers during my recording session… I hadn’t heard your wonderful piece before. (How embarrassing!) Here in western Virginia, we have never seen anything like it before this year: they get into everything.
Great string work!
One of my favorite songs of all time and one of my favorite voices.
Thanks M.T.
My Skin
Some days I’m fine
Yeah some days I feel sublime
All the time
But then there’s days
I wanna crawl out of my skin
And leave it in

An intrumental Track I put together when Thinking about my family.
One Guitar represents my son, one my wife and one me......
Two Versions with Vox (Jim Higgins and Geir Alfsen) are also in existance.. not sure how to link to this site…

outside my piano room, it called to me
this tune is a one take playful moment, loosely based on the main theme from the 2nd mov of my piano sonata,,, i only toned down about…
I went to Norway recently to meet Geir and Jim and Mike for a Weekend of Music.

We have never played Live together, and this was the First Time…
I'm working on making this old song from Two Old Friends into a better version. Today I got inspired to pick up my daughter's 3/4 size Martin (which makes the runs easier) and recorded this on my Zoom H2.
We Didn't Get Time to do this in Norway.
Geir put down great the Guitars.
I took the Vox and Lyrics...
This is called "Your Heart"
-Your Heart-
Your shout is silent now
It feels I’m missing out
This void is lasting evermore…
This is a rough mix of a track I did with the one & only Norm Harris. I've got some vocals in mind, but it may take some time to put it together, so meanwhile here's the instrumental version. Big thanks & major props to Norm…
I resorted to some unmarked old CDRs in the car today on my way to and from my Dad's (I brought him a new laptop) and found one of the earlier collaborations between Norm and myself.
This is dedicated to the families who have (and still…
This song is special to me for a few reasons: one of which is that this was my very first on-line collaboration, just a few days after I had begun to learn the very basics of recording/mixing. Chris has been very kind to put up with my steep learning curve: it's been a very educational (and humbling) experience.
Norm played the percussion first, which is a Bembe pattern; I couldnt help playing a melody and creating lyrics for this perc track. Thanks for the listen, Enjoy!
Ok, I'm ready for the song describing how the guys go off to a secluded island/mountain cabin/desert cave with their instruments, a case of scotch and a Weber grill. In the future, please use my percussion patterns to write a song likw that.
this was originally a song about breaking through paradigms but turned into a song about a girl.
Keys and string samples from Korg, MIDI with the old Ensoniq,
one diving board.
Thanks for the listen ,enjoy... RW
A day at the beach and a moment of seeing past the trappings of the physical world into what's really important. This song is doing double duty with another Rock-opera concept.

My first rejected Ramen Music submission.
Too Much
I wrote you a letter but I never sent it
I was afraid you might never get it
or what if you did and I lived to regret it
and it was just too much for me to take
now its four in the morning…
I'm not so sure the tunes selected by Ramen music necessarily reflect the popular vote as demonstrated by Alonetone "most favorited", etc. And it is a thankless job, inherently biased, to make selections for Ramen Music. I don't envy the position of the editors. Alas, that was historically one of the problems that lead to the demise of other record labels...
In any case, don't let it work on your head. You have a sizeable fan base and we LOVE what you are producing. Now, return to your studio and get back to work: we are hungry for more!
Comments on Norm's stuff

I hated this song from the moment I heard it. It was the last song in the world I wanted to hear. I still hate it, but I listen to it every day.
Rocks!

Amen. It just doesn't always feel like it from our perspective. But thanks for reminding me again.
