I know why you love The Starry Night
I know why you weren't all right
I know why you couldn't stay
I know why you're here today
I know why you couldn't see
I know why, 'cuz you were me
I know why you loved to paint in blue
I know why…

before I disappear
I form a fossil shaped by fear
fresh thoughts have gone up dry
yet old habits still multiply
my waking life is said and done
I'm just this script I have become
no good solution can be found
let's burn this whole thing…

Dan wrote this one to test new DAW software (and to pay homage to an old favorite), then added some synth guitar, then Kevin added some synth percussion, exported the WAV file, changed the name, and added it to the album.

It's been a long time. Too many distractions and not enough time, or even focus to play lately.
Somehow this song, "Higher Ground" squeaked out from some hidden place.

True story about one of the best all around singer/songwriters I ever personally knew. He was invited to play in Nashville … then decided to move there … for some reason he just disappeared … all we heard were rumors.

I've been tinkering with this one for a week or two. It still needs vocals, and to have the midi drums swapped out with live drums, and some tighter bass work, but it's coming along.

A bit of fun - took some samples of Hillary Clinton coughing, Trump saying "Russia", TV media reporting, Bernie Sanders going "wooah woaah woaah" , and turned the whole lot into a rhythm..

Apparently this song is the quintessential Gary Fox sound. That's probably because it's done with a special guitar with a special tuning. Anyway, my favorite part of the song is the mid-section. This is a "listen loud in the dark" sort of song.
