I've made three different versions of this song, but I think I like this one the most.
Lyrics:
She was stunningly pretty but confined to her throne
Her beauty was praised but her feelings unknown
To the peasants and paupers, the burghers…

...Oh heavens, quite the gem. This is gorgeous... Your vocal is so emotional and expressive - and the intimate arrangement forces the listener to sit up and take notice - fantastic.
My closest friend Brenda McNeill wrote the lyrics of this song as a dramatic monologue, and once she showed it to me I just had to turn it into a song:
She swept in, an hour late
wrapped in her cloak
that billowed behind her
Lit the fire and…
Your songwriting skills are really admirable. Putting a free-form poem like this to music sure isn't an easy job for most people. But your music and the lyrics always go together like hand and glove.
Great lyric, btw!

Steffen
This is a stunner.
I had time for one more song before I logged off, and the title of this grabbed me.
Really glad I listened, I'll be back for more of yours...
The circus clown turns his pedestal
Into a royal throne
wraps his words in fear and anger
tells us what we’ve always known
while the ringmaster takes the sideline
and steps down from the stage
he knows his days are numbered
when cheers turn…
I am blind but I read you like I´m reading braille
I´m half drunk but what is rushing through my veins
Isn´t caffeine or alcohol though the kick feels much the same
Blind, half drunk I stumble but I’ll get up and try again
I must have said a…
Thanks for the comments. Really appreciate it....I know I should listen to others more often but I can't always find the time for it (yes, I feel guilty).
New one from me. It's ended up as a bit of a "crying into yer beer at Bob's Country Bunker" sort of song lol...
I've been sat on these lyrics in some form or another for absolutely years. I first wrote them one very dark night a few years after…
Another one jip1965 sent to me for playing with!
Silent and magical
Calming and practical
Moonbeams, silver moonbeams
Filtering through the air
Twinkling in our hair
Moonbeams, silver moonbeams
Dancing on the leaves of trees
Shaking…

Lyrics:
One kiss leads to another
Down the road we go
In each other’s arms
Love struck, drive me crazy
Hoping that you recognize
My charms
One kiss leads to love

Why write a lovesong?
I could tell you my truth in three chords and some words
But you’d be hurt and think of me wrong
Now I’m done with explaining, the bruises, the pain and
The scars are all down in this song
Yeah I know I’m the bad guy…
Vooral La vie sans toi is geweldig.
Come Tomorrow

I'm like a tumbleweed, got no roots
I'm like a climbing vine, leaves and chutes
Come tomorrow, I might not be around
Come tomorrow
I'm a reflection, you see me in your mirror
A missed connection, so far and yet right here…
Listened to Piano moment 7 and 6. Loved them, I instantly thought (when I listened to 7) can I make lyrics for it, and turn it into a song.....can't help it, that's the way my brains work I guess. Thanks for your comment on Hey Amelia (really appreciate it).
This is a new song that was written and performed with my friend Tim de Graauw. One evening we sat down for about 2 hours, hashed out ideas, got the creative juices flowin, played some G tar aaand out of that came this song.
This is just a rough…
Hey great song and great voice! I'll probably be in Vancouver this summer. Maybe there's a chance I can see you perform there! And thanks for your comment on my song 'Hey Amelia'. Off to listen to your other songs.

Secondhand Stray

Just a little piano ballad - another old composition. The strings have not been mixed/edited too well, sorry for that. I'll fix it some day.
It was bedtime and I suddenly felt like playing something on my keyboard. That's how this song came…
This new one was written by Willie and features him on guitar and vocals plus once again we are pleased to have Rinyville supply harmony vocals. We welcome your feedback as usual.

When I read the title, I had to listen to it. Great song!
Reminds me of something in between Screamin'Jay Hawkins and Tom Waits. Love it!
