With Big Time Operator, who originally uploaded his awesome music with the offer that anyone can add vocals...too good to miss! Love this music, and had loads of fun wailing. Thanks Chris!
Played on BBC Radio Introducing. :)

My first attempt to work with loops I created using midi.
With Mr Sandbags (reichatron). There's a really cool version with guitar added by Mac somewhere too, but it's weirdly vanished! Will add as soon as I find it.

Well... this took a left turn at Odd Street. The main melody started off as riff written and played on bass guitar and the early version had guitars, and real drums etc.... Then I got introduced to a suite of 80s synth plugins and it all went…
Only 1 week ago I was luxuriating at a beautiful hotel in Dubai, floating blissfully in a lagoon pool... Forward wind one week and I'm here in the cold, wet, windy UK having to quarantine...
Now, at the aforementioned pool, they played a chill…
The second one born from my first week of quarantine. I dusted off my 5 string Sandberg bass guitar and wanted to evoke a Motown-ish vibe on this one and really got into the snare and bass guitar following the same rhythm rather than the usual…

I don't know if I just got lucky tonight or if my new laptop speakers are *amazing* but every track I've heard on 'tone tonight has been fantastic... Another beaut! BUT THIS NEEDS TO BE LONGER. You've got 15 days till Samhain.
So, what do you think... could it use more wah-wah?
This was written for the 2014 RPM Challenge. The chromatic thing at the beginning had been rattling around in my head for years and years but had never found a home.
The lyrics here…

I found this one while I was digging through the shoe-box for the 1994 songs. Apparently I wrote it on 10th November 1995.
Foolishly, I thought it would only take a week or so to record... I was originally expecting…
I can't currently get any tracks to play, but previously heard this on a different site. Perfectly titled, and just utterly splendid! I love how you weaved these compelling sounds.
Also, welcome to Alonetone, Mike!

And here's another song from 1994, with a sparkling new "Andrew Russe Band" arrangement fresh from the broom-cupboard.
Like most of my songs, it was written with an acoustic guitar, a pen, and an A4 pad. The ones…
This song scares me. This song stresses me out. This song confuses me. I could write a song about how messed up this song makes me feel.
Is it the best song I've ever written? Not even close. Why then do I insist to myself that it's the…

And here we go - Edith FINALLY gets it...
Actually, she's been getting it ever since I wrote it on the 29th May. I thought it would take a week or so, but it proved to be more of a fight than I was expecting.

You're currently writing amazing songs that make my heart hurt a bit. If that didn't happen, I'd like them even more. That's the trouble with fantastic songwriters.

So my lovely wife bought me a guitar this week... I started by learning some basic and easy chord shapes and this song came together. It's the first one I've done where everything is played by me.
It also features my voice on lead and backing…
I wrote this song as a way to process some of the feelings of sadness, dismay, anger, fear and love that were brewing inside my heart this past week. I live in Minneapolis, where the terrible killing of George Floyd occurred, and the subsequent…
Millions of years ago... Before the dawn of history... I was a in a school band. I couldn't play an instrument then so I was the vocalist. This tune was one of the band's originals.
Now, bear in mind this was the 'Ay-deees' so it was mullets…
It started off as a shimmery, summery canvas in my head but morphed into something very different from the middle 8 onwards. It was originally done at 100BPM but sounded a bit 'ploddy' and pedestrian so I beefed it up
Comments on Sister Savage's stuff
sweet bass line and groove, superb vocals and melodies, nice mix, enjoyed from start to finish.
Nice! You have an interesting voice that suits the song very well.
So painful, so heart wrenchingly beautiful!
You two belong together! Sorry Matt!
This was the last one to be taken wasn't it? I know why now, it was waiting for you to save it.
Ooo ethereal or what. This is an awesome collab! You minxy little witch!
I didn't know you could write and sing like that. I was going to say she get's it from me, but she doesn't! He wasn't just good looking!
Superb musical composition, I'll speak to you later young lady!
Wonderful music and that voice! All silky smooth and creamy!

Loving the space in the beats, but you were clearly off your face when you wrote this.
Definitely chill (although I get Russe's hot water bottle-nicking wifey ref), and very soothing...needed that. Lush track, kiddo.
Long silk gloves, lots of shoulder action. Def Motown.
I can really hear this with a swing rhythm!

Timeless, retro acoustic gem - love this. :) Soundtrack material.
Such a cool night driving track.
Dreamy! Gorgeous build.
Love a bit of chromatics :) Very cool bluesy core to this - sounds super sweet to me.

Oh man, Andy, will you stop breaking my heart?!
Awesome road trip soundtrack. Leave it all behind, take only great music with you.

Huge and mighty, as usual, Mr Russe. (Poor Edith, happy or not, I do wish she was getting something like a hotdog or a gun.)
Hell yeah! Welcome back, Lady J!
Ah, at last! Wonderful wistful writing, and love your dreamy vox.
Peace anthem, and so beautifully performed. Magical!
Bouncy poppy wonderfulness!
That middle 8 though! Love your dreamy moments.
