Written and recorded in a couple of hours late one night.

I pick up the telephone
and dial the number
I run down the street
I don’t mind the thunder
I can get no answer
Can’t go back to my slumber
I turn the corner slip and fall
I hit the ground, head first, and wonder

Am I expected
or am I rejected
did I get the signals right
or do I stand here like a fool

Poke your face in a book
you’re not responding
I stumble ‘cross the zebra-stripes
wonder where I’m going
I message you with smoke and wires
the wind blows it all away
I head in your direction
following the sun and wonder

I see your face across the street
looking strong but tired
I see your face through the window
power’s gone but you still shine
I’m running down the elevator
through the doors, above the floor
I’m jumping from white to white
as you illuminate the night

Yeah - magnificent song. Love the vox. Like the vid too :) ...Interesting watching you play, btw - you've got a different right hand, but watching your left hand I could be watching myself in a mirror! Don't often get that feeling watching another guitarist :)
