A world of yes. I too encountered this song in high school -- somebody had the CD reissue of the 7 inch and passed it around. I made a tape copy, as one did in those days, and listened to it until I Was Goth.

Wow. You really nailed that intro!
Quick story: my high school girlfriend was obsessed with this song. She once played it on a loop for 54 hours straight (CD players had just become affordable and that repeat button was just too much for her to resist). When I came over to see her she was a little..... frayed. She really wasn't much of a goth, but she loved this song and the movie The Hunger. Okay, so maybe she was a little bit of a goth.

Marz and I love Crowded House. We were feeling ambitious and took on one of our favorites for the June 30 Day Songs submission.
Tim - guitars, voices, other noises
Marz - vocals and lead guitar
Jarrett Osborn - drums
Tim played and sang everything
Another cover for the May 30 Day Songs project (https://30daysongs.com).
This has always been one of my favorite songs and I saw that Ben Kweller's album
"Sha Sha" is turning 20 this year. I needed a b…
Tim - guitars, voices, and other noises

Megan Kleven - backing vocals
Marz and I have know one another for over ten years now, but we've never actually recorded anything where we sang together until now. We…
Sounds awesome! Clean, forward, and intimate. Love the acoustic arrangement and all the little touches (tambourine, shaker, fingersnaps). Love the layered vocals too from the three singers.
Groovy! Fun, bouncy bassline... not knowing who Suzy Bannion is, she seems to be running from something (witches?). I'll look it up after leaving this comment.
I decided to cover one of Jarrett's songs. Word to the wise - it's harder than you think. Dude uses a lot of inversions and weird chords. So, being me, I kinda-sorta figured out the chords, but not quite, then took to creating my own song that…
This... sounds... awesome! It's like modern retro. The synths, the thin sounding guitars, the dry snare, the flanging, it all sounds great. Fab vocals too.
Glitter and unicorns destroyed my recording device. I used an Ipad from a friend and used garageband to record the whole album with a cheap $5 microphone.
I could have done it on my Iphone as well but my eyes aren't what they used to be... the…
Listened to the whole album; strong melodies, great vocal range. You did all this in two days? Could've fooled me. I get the setup isn't what you would've liked, but I think the whole thing sounds brilliant. Lo-Fi/DIY/what-have-you, I love the simplicity, rawness, spontaneity of it all... and of course, the meta-ness too. Great album title, BTW.
I like Bad Religion. The first album I heard, I remember thinking that it was amazing that there was a smart punk band. Also, I like the way that their songs could work with an acoustic guitar, and still stand.
I thought this had a similar…
Don't let it be said that I've forgotten my love of R.E.M.
Dream of a life that’s never been seen
A world of possibilities, a place in between
A place of shadows, a place of light
A place of secrets, hiding in the night
Oblique, oblique…
Toe tapping catchiness, classic REM sound. I love the repeated guitar riffing throughout the song, and you kept that little pause at 3:24! I think it add a little bit of dynamic and tension at the end of the song.
Yacht rock.
Every time I see your smile
I feel like I’ve come home
And every time you stay a while
Is the best day that I’ve known
You’re the one that lights my way
Brings brightness to my day
And I just have to say
Don’t want it…
This one also has a lilting, melancholy feel to it. Groovy bass! Awesome outro; I love how all the instruments fade out except the cello and flute sounds.
I tried to write a song that sounded sort of like Peter Gabriel. I'm not sure how close I got, but Megan and Jarrett absolutely killed it on this tune.
I can see you in my mind
Like a dream I can’t forget
I’m reaching out to touch you
But…
Quick and dirty cover version of the (in)famous (and questionably inappropriate) 1984 charity single, "Do They Know It's Christmas?" Recorded for the 2018 Holiday Challenge (I think).

Niiiiiiiiice.
Yup. I very much am liking this year's RPM album from you. Loving that you cranked this out in two days! The energy is OUTSTANDING.
Dang. I might like this version even more!
Oooooohhhh. Love this from the opening notes!
Very cool song, love vocals on the end! Tamb addition was lovely!
Those guitars harmonizing with each other are pretty sweet! This is the best thing I have heard on this platform so far!
A balls to the wall Christmas to you too
Well... now we are going to need a punk album out of you.
Now there’s the fanciest danciest tune of all! Love it!!
A world of yes. I too encountered this song in high school -- somebody had the CD reissue of the 7 inch and passed it around. I made a tape copy, as one did in those days, and listened to it until I Was Goth.
A very cool soundscape here. Nicely done.

One from back in the day ….. you’ve done a good job with it
You've started using a different approach with your vocals and I really like it.
This is spectacular. The raw emotion really comes through.
this is fun, put a smile on my face!
I'm not familiar with the Manics, but, this jams, nice job Wilsun!
Oh man. I love this voice out of you. MORE OF THIS!!!!!
oooohhh. Love the dark, mysterious vibe. I'm a huge OMD fan. You did this justice.
Great tune! Love the jangly guitar vibes and cool Eno-esque backing synths. Reminds me of James "Laid" style stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Great cover. Great vocal harmonies. Love the superclean mix. Catchy as heck, really fun listen.
Achingly beautiful, heartfelt delivery, awesome.
Gorgeous soundscape, expansive, calming.
Like "Hey Julie," sounds great with the straightforward, laid back, acoustic arrangements.
Sounds awesome! Clean, forward, and intimate. Love the acoustic arrangement and all the little touches (tambourine, shaker, fingersnaps). Love the layered vocals too from the three singers.
Nice companion to the A-Side (is it using the same chord progression?). Sounds tragic, even a little sinister.

Introspective but almost pop in its bounciness and hummable vocals.
Utterly epic... just listen and drift away.
This sounds like a pop song with its playful melody hiding behind the ambient vibe. Very enjoyable.
Damn catchy and continues with the melancholic vibe, almost danceable too. Great track!
Gentle and melodic melancholy... great opener!

This rocks! Love the added vocals!

Great vocals, catchy guitar solo outro. A really fun listen... it's a blast (in every sense of the word)!

So melancholy! I love that repeating high guitar(?) motif throughout the song. Such a great outro!
@Eternal, I don't often check Alonetone so sorry about missing your message, but feel free to add to it! I don't think it was played in time though...
