This is well-assembled. The production is fantastic, as are the vocals. I like the atmospheric background sounds - it takes it up to the next level, IMHO.
hey al, its ur sister in law and mother in law, just listening to ur music and we really like it, mums bopping away as we speak, she spcially likes the light...catch ya laterz x
Didn't really work. Kind of lost the essence of the song by going a bit bonkers on effects and what not.
Will return to this (but a lot more simplified) in the future.. comments welcome!
I'd go back to your demo version, I really liked that. I don't like the strings in this version, and I think the melody is strong enough to survive without the extra effects.

This is a song inspired by the town i grew up in, and where I still live. Its a nod to the comfort I've enjoyed from being surrounded by the mountains of the Caerphilly basin. The verse lyrics acknowledge how little we tend to go to the places…

In response to a suggestion of Dr. Ozan Yarman I tried a tuning he created for a different project. I realized the composition using Garritan Personal Orchestra Baroque organs, Garritan World sample set Oud and Santoor samples performed on an…
A track from my RPM 2011 album 'Glass Wall'.
I just whipped this up in Garage Band using a loop called 'Exotic Sarod' for the main melodic theme (hence the title). The Sarod is an Indian stringed instrument. 'Sarod' means 'beautiful sound' in…
This RPM Challenge album had a bit of a ying-yang vibe to it. Compare "Marbles" to "Constellations" and "Fisher In The Sky" to "Tied By The Lies".
This wasn't planned - it just sort of happened.
For 2011 RPM Challenge album John the Resonator
A Sword and Sorcery parody. With Elvis.

It's kind of funny how you can intend to create electronica, and then end up blindly wandering into a different sub-genre. The end result almost sounds like it wanted to be stoner rock.
For more on the song title, look up "Ganzfeld Effect…
Lyrics:
Skip ahead to her in pants,
watch her dance in the living room
in front of all the other dinner guests.
She thumbs her nose at simulacra,
but someone must play Cleopatra
in the PTA's yearly drama fest.

This song was inspired by a melody my then 2 year old daughter was playing on the harmonica one day back in 2004. I picked up my guitar and strummed along....I kept playing around with it and "Caught in the Rain" was born.
This was one of several songs I recorded in a session on the night of my 29th birthday. I had decided to just start playing and see how many tunes I could write straight through without stopping. My only rule was that these tunes had to be totally…

I wanted to have a banjo fiddle tune but i still haven't learnt to play either instrument, so this is my famous 1 string banjo technique, with mandolin and guitar. It's style is inspired by meeting Morgan O'Kane and Ferd 4 last…

A playful tune made up on the spot as a studio demonstration. Really quite silly! If you listen closely you can hear my wife questioning the use of the small diaphragm mic on the vocal track.

RPM 2011 - my first track recorded and the opening track for the CD
A kind of Old Time gospel number, which, if you listen to those pre-war guitar playing preachers, are virtually indistinguishable from blues. Except for the lyrics…
you're just a genius that's all there is to it. a mad professor who keeps forgetting to put his trousers on before leaving the house type of genius, but a genius all the same. love the vocal, and the sentiment of said vocal n all. the switching back and fore with the spoken part is perfect, story's told excellently, great jackanory voice. easily a favourite

I really like this. DL'd AND faved, which is rare for me to do. This has great atmosphere and some nice subtle psychedelia.

intriguing music, and the way the lyrics flow so nicely and are sung, reminds me a bit of Supertramp. Great guitar & drum work on this.
love it.
This utterly rocks, Alex! So many layers to it, catchy as Hell, and a cracking vocal! Love it!
This is excellent!
