A new one...
I wrote it on 5th February, and managed to record it in less than a month (a head-cold and lack of hearing in one ear slowed the last lap somewhat).
But seeing as the last one took over 8 months, I think I'm already ahead for…

This is really good stuff. Songwriting firmly placed in late 70's art rock/pop, which is a very good place to be, if you ask me. Contemporary, skilled production makes for a tasty sound palette and a very enjoyable listening experience. Bravo!
This song has been sat on the marvellous mechanical mouse organ in the broom-cupboard for well over a year.
A few weeks ago I got a bit of a scare - the mouse organ nearly broke down (in the middle of sorting out Delta Dawn). While I was fixing…

I dig the classic flavor of this one. Some choice bass runs. Groovy lyrics. Great vocal delivery. Superb mix-down skills. Thanks for checking out "niaR" on my Gene Eric Mann profile. Hear it as "Rain" on my Nightmoth profile. Rock on!
Pop-rock tale about a character in a novel that I fancied. Recorded in 2009 on a Boss MBR.

Looks about my age
Hiding out on the second page
Waiting for the story to unfold…
I wrote this thing in 1994. When I played it to some friends back then they went "yeah, but where's the rest of it?"
I've been struggling with that concept ever since. Then, a while ago, a couple of kindly souls removed that worry from me…

A song about my wife. Recorded 2005.
I'd just taught myself how to play piano (badly).
I'd always wanted to be Freddie Mercury when I was younger... still got a bit of a ways to go.

Electric blues. Recorded 2007. I was learning how to use my DAW and trying to figure out how a one-man-band could get to sound like a bunch of old bluesers in a sweaty bar...

When I tell people I am a terrible singer, this is what I'm talking about. Listening to myself here is making my teeth ache.
This was the first idea I had for the April 2020 RPM Challenge - Social Distance Edition. I used a 1x12 combo amp…
I live in a house with a river running at the bottom of the garden so i wrote a song about it.

When I get down by the river and I watch it flow
I Wonder where the hell it finally goes
Snaking…
Wow. That works. Really uplifting.
We've only got slugs down the bottom of our garden. And the top. And a lot of snails in the middle. No ants though - they all seem to have moved into the house in the last few days...
This one came to me as I was sleeping on a plane, delayed on a tarmac. I dreamt that McCartney was singing this, sort of. I came out of the dream abruptly when the pilot said we were finally cleared to take off. I racked my brain to figure out…
Reminds me of a song called Scrambled Eggs ;)
(That's the blurb, not the song itself)
And strangely, I can hear McCartney singing this too... lol
Love the little horn part on the end!
This one came solely as the chorus melody and the basic hook "So I'll sing my song for Carolina" It's all I had for months, but I thought it was a good chorus line so I kept humming it to see if it would sprout further ideas. The mid section is…
This one started as the verse chords and some rambling vox melody. My demo of just gtr and me mumbling resulted in something vaguely Lennon-esque in delivery, so I kept that aspect and took it further for the mid section. The harmonies in the…
The word agony and the basic melody for the first line came first. I sat on it for a while, then one evening tried to figure out the chords for it. The verse chords followed very quickly, effectively falling out of the gtr after I had discovered…
A total gtr inspired tune. The riff came first and I knew it needed thunderous drums. The rest fell into place. I envisioned this one being very Top of The Pops on a Saturday in 1971, or Granada TV in summer of' 70, depending on your point of…
I have never written a song about the RPM Challenge itself, until now. Have we really been here for 15 years? It needed to be fun, it needed to be a great dance number. I had the gtr riff, and realized it would be even better as a horn line. The…
Home from work for 9 days. How is everyone doing? Stay safe and have fun on this weird global time off! got a new FX peddle , super octave, that im using here instead of a bass guitar.
Enjoy! Reef
It's ok.
136 BPM Standard Tuning
If anyone is interested in trying their own lead on this track let me know i will upload just the backing track.
Take care everyone and stay safe
Ukulele and vocals performed by Jazz, 12.
She's starting to write her own stuff (proud!) but just to get her in the studio for the first time, here is a cover of a song by Vance Joy.
Haven’t uploaded any material in ages! I have been building custom guitars which has been taking up some of my spare time. This track features my first guitar build which I am playing over a backing track.
This was a collab between my old friend Joe and I from a couple years ago. I recorded the basic track and sent it to him so he could play the main melody/ guitar solo over it. I took the ending of the guitar solo section and reversed it to give…

...always a tremendous amount of care and effort put into your music. Like it.
Says it all
"You don’t ever get to touch the dancing girl"
very nice
About time too! Wonderful, as always :) *Kicks own ass into gear*
Good un' :)
*When she leaves to get undressed We’ll just imagine where she’s gone* Just brilliant.
Really like this mate. Great lyrics
Reminds me a bit of classic rock Bowie. Really cool!

Loving your blues vibe - sounds like the real you.

Dug this. Loved the lead break. And the vocals are a lot better than you think they are. My teeth aren't aching at all!

Have I heard this before? Don't seem to have commented before... I do seem to have favourited it... But anyways... Omigosh :)
Another utterly fabulous set of songs Mr Fox. Well done, big time.
Rocking. Am I imagining it, or is there a backing vocal that sounds like someone other than you?

Run out of words to type... Wow
Yep. LOVED this one.
Love it. The lyrics are fabulous. I don't often notice lyrics on a first listen, but wow... Fab song
Woof! Yes
Love how you converted the guitar riff to horns - masterful decision (says a guitarist)
That works. Nice one.
Yep. Stay safe :)
Nice and laid back.
Oh yeah. Cool playing.
Nice one
Made me smile there Greg
Wow. That's mightily cool.
Mighty fine playing.
That's cool. The reversed solo at the end works really well.
