A song about my wife. Recorded 2005.
I'd just taught myself how to play piano (badly).
I'd always wanted to be Freddie Mercury when I was younger... still got a bit of a ways to go.

A cover of Justin Currie's Sleep Instead of Teardrops. Recorded 2010.
It has always been one of my favourite Del Amitri songs. I was strumming away at it one day and my missus said I should record it...

I tried to send a comment on here giving you my email (iris_selene@sbcglobal.net). If it worked, no need to even read this one, it's just the same stuff. I want to thank you for your feedback and we should chat, talk music, and I should get to listening to more of your stuff too. You're a great musician. Alright, thanks so much, hope we talk soon!
Pop-rock song. Recorded 2009.
I wrote this several years earlier and rehearsed it with the last band I was in.
The recording was my first "serious" project on my Boss MBR, I was stunned that you could do something like this on a little silver…
Hearing traces of early Bowie! Woot! Love you in this poppier guise, but your voice shines fantastically towards the rock out close! (Also, loving those "ba ba baas"!)
THIS IS THE OLD YEURGH MIX - THERE IS ANOTHER ONE HIGHER UP THE LIST NOW, FULLY LOVED BY AR. THIS ONE IS LEFT HERE AS A MONUMENT TO SOMETHING OR OTHER (AND IN CASE YOU PREFER IT)
Acoustic ghost story. Recorded 2010.

Acoustic tale recorded Christmas 2010.
I wrote it years ago. Even tried rehearsing it with the band I was in at the time. But I couldn't play it properly. It took several weeks of practicing DADGAD (never really used it in anger before) until…
One of my two contributions to a "Beatlesfest" we had over on songcrafters.org a few months back.
I still can't believe I covered this... having done it though, it feels like nothing is sacred. And, more worryingly, I feel I might possibly…
I saw this I was like "Oh hell yes!" And then I listen and it's like.... a harder rockin version..... wow! Very interesting in a really cool way. This song can tug at my heart strings no matter what. The brilliance of the Beatles can be conveyed through any way you wanna play it..... thanks for this one!

Recorded Oct 2010.
It was meant to be a full band pop-rock song. But I started overdubbing on the original exploratory demo I'd done to work out the arrangement (with no click track). I kept coming back to it intending to start afresh... but…
Acoustic love song. Written and recorded between Christmas 2010 and the New Year.
I'd just finished recording Elizabeth's Room and was tooling up to record a pop-rock song when this little beast popped out of nowhere, almost perfectly formed…
New one from me. It's ended up as a bit of a "crying into yer beer at Bob's Country Bunker" sort of song lol...
I've been sat on these lyrics in some form or another for absolutely years. I first wrote them one very dark night a few years after…

Soulful...always playing for the song, a musician's musician. I dig the low organ and how it pops out at the end of the bridge. Another Great performance.

You and me both, buddy! Haha. Nah I kid. It just seems really hard to get people to listen to new music. There's just so much of it around. :)
But thanks again. Much appreciated.

Andrew...best song I have heard in a long long time...i am blown away. Everything is perfection on this. Your voice is great...your voice is similar to Ed Roland from Collective Soul...but more soulful....I must listen to this 500 more times....thanks for sharing.
Wow! John, Paul, and George with Young/Young/Williams/Rudd backing them... I can't think of a better combination for me to listen to.
The chorus is just sublime.
And George Martin at the controls... lol (just reached the end).
Almost perfect Gary - LOVE IT!!
Reg was talking to Elvis about Frank and he told him something he didn't know.you can have it all then at the end not remember it which is what happened to Frank the grind ground him down a sad ending for a great man......Dementia is a cruel end…
Don't know the original, but I likes this.
Lovely lovely vocal, and I like how the instrumentation builds, complementing the vocal perfectly...
And I'm still watching this "no reverb" approach with much interest - I wish I was brave enough to try it (I am trying to cut down though! lol)

An emotional and, I found, disturbing listen.
I have to admit, news stories and footage of things like this often tend to pass me by, I seem not to get emotionally involved. I sometimes wonder why this is but I have no proper answer. I do get affected by some news stories, but not usually the big ones like this. My wife has been upset, but I've been left cold again on this one, until now.
Listening to this piece has opened it up slightly for me, making it more... I don't know what...
Many thanks for making this and posting it.
Do you wonder
What became of me?
Cause I wonder
What became of you
Since you wandered
Wandered far away
Full of wonder
I couldn't make you stay
So I wonder what became of you
Did you do the things you had to do?
Will you find your…
This is a love song for my wife.
I want to be

And you could be the only bee for me

For you and me

Monagabee
Life would be so happy, you see
If you would be the only bee for me

Killer bassline by Ian Tanner. Drums by Grant Muller. Backing vocals by Clarke McMurray.
Hey there Mr. Flashy Pants
Hey there voice of thunder
As you lie there flat on…
Yep, you're right about it being a killer bass-line.
The vocals are pretty stand-out as well :-)
Initially, I wasn't sure whether your vocal delivery was fitting the songs, but this one showed me why it works so well. It's almost like we've got David Gates singing punk songs here... lol. The contrast really brings out the emotions in the lyrics. If you tried to sound "angrier" we'd actually lose some of the power...
Composed, arranged & mixed by Steffen Offermann

Floppy old mix. Another candidate for remixing or (at least) re-mastering. I'll probably do the latter soon.
This is a synthesizer instrumental…
I can kind of see why it hasn't made many friends - it just is what it is... It makes me think of 80s stuff, like Moonlighting, etc :-)
BUT... it's a mighty fine listen.
not really a ghost in my house it just badly needs rewiring.
There’s a ghost in my house
That we can’t see
Moving things around
When we’re not here
Playing little tricks
On my memory
Playing little games
With my mind
There…
I'd only heard the various live versions, where I was concentrating on the performance etc... on this one I noticed what an excellent song it is as well!
Love the dual vocal.
a mind

destruction
signalling
for help
taking refuge
with the dead
afore arrival

o you who turn the wheel
and look to windward
o you who turn the wheel
consider phlebas
the search

determined

she will smother you with all her love
take you by the hand and drown you with passion
she could lead the blind astray
and break the will of stronger men than me
she will take your heart
she will take your soul
gently to her you surrender

Chester Arthur was the president

What about you?
He served a term with no vice president
And no one resident

He came to office by a bullet's grace
Garfield lost his place

I keep dipping into your stuff (I'm very fond of Gormenghast as well, I've even got some songs knocking around somewhere that are directly inspired by it), but this is the first one I've listened to closely...
You guys are growing on me - you've got something that makes me keep coming back, and it's not just Mr Peake!
Faved :-)
Superb version.
I found the album in my parents' records when I was 14 or 15. This song almost took me down the "Bob Dylan" route, but I managed to avoid it in the end(!) But it's always been one of my favourites.
It's a difficult one to do justice to... but you've managed it apparently effortlessly :)
This is another composition from the early 90, and also a bass line. I added some arrengements to it, and it was, eventually, the third part of a long 'spacial' suite called 'Mars'. I could upload the 'part one' bass line one day, which I think…
I wasn't too sure of this when it started and I read the "about"...
But after 5 minutes I found that I was still listening and that I was likely to stay til the end.
Well put together. For me, it does what you set out to do. Fascinating and strangely calming, all the way through to the end.
Comments on Andrew Russe's stuff

Ooo, and the tee shirt by the sounds of it! I'm afraid to say that I have string of dead bodies behind me too! Tell the truth boys!!!

!!! Oh heavens...unbelievably sad. The production and performance are polished and professional but, ouch, my heart.
Like that!
One of my middle names is Elizabeth, so this is automatically cute to me. Don't really have words, I just really like it. Good job!

Love the folky ness. Quite soulful! Lovin the lyrics too. All of it, quite good, yes indeed.
Andrew does it again!
Brilliant...I can here this in a movie if you get my drift? Reminds me of Cat Stevens.
I really like your singing, i feel that you put a lot of yourself into your songs. Very melodic guitar lines too, i like slide arrangements!
Soulful...always playing for the song, a musician's musician. I dig the low organ and how it pops out at the end of the bridge. Another Great performance.
That *SLIDE* adds the perfect touch. Fantastic song!
Dude...this song is killing me. That slide guitar is placed perfectly in the spectrum...everything is....god damn that is a good tune...jeez louise!

Sheesh... this is utterly superb guys. Stunning groove, love the guitars, and the lyrics/vox are just perfect.

Consider my maw told :-) Nice one boys.
And a nice one to finish. The whole album is an excellent piece of work.
Big smile on my face listening to this. Superbly recorded vocals and guitars by the way.
I love this one.

Very beautiful. Fine playing, lovely arrangement.
I'd favourited it after the first line! Luckily the rest of it lived up to it... Groove, over all sound, vocal, backing vox, everything. I love it...

Woo! This is really effective. I don't think I've heard it before, but no matter... I needed two listens one after the other. Love it.
I'm still kinda stunned by this one. Welcome over here! :)
Well I enjoy the noises you make :) I like this one a lot, I'll have to explore your other stuff.
