So I was locked in the broom-cupboard, checking out some old songs that need recording.
I'd just picked one and then suddenly this thing came out of nowehere. It started with one of those guitarist doodles that other musicians love so much…
I can't quite believe that I'm posting this, or that I've even recorded it. But I've played it like this sat on the sofa in the living room for many years, and I needed something to check out how to record a live "one vocal and one guitar" song…

First new one from me in a long time.
Kind of a love song, I guess.
Recorded in my new "studio" (3rd bedroom in the new house). Almost up and running now... shine and don't stop wondering!

Recorded Jan-Feb 2011.
I wrote it many years ago, never thought I'd ever do anything with it.

Love the first section, and then when the second section cuts the phrase down I'm thinking "but I loved that widdly bit!!" ... but really quickly I'm in the groove and digging it and I've forgotten it until I listen to the track again. I've listened three times now and it has the same effect on me every time. Mighty cool.
Lockdown 2020. This was a suggestion by our friend Paul Matthews (check out his page: https://alonetone.com/IlshamOrchestrate )

Another tune exhumed from the past... 1984 to be precise. A 15 year-old angst-ridden vocalist wrote some words that went something like "Late at night... the shadows... creep across my wall". Happily, the song is musically much stronger than the…
The thing is though, "Late at night... the shadows... creep across my wall" are really good lyrics! Feel no shame, the angst-ridden 15 year-olds knew what they were doing! lol .... Cool sounds, looking forward to the vocals.

Well I'm down
I am falling to the ground…
Awww yeah... very tasty. Loved the title when I saw the notification - was wondering how you'd treat it... it's just wonderful. Cool song, and the performance/recording is smooth and lively at the same time. Love the groove, and the playing from everyone is perfect - like a coiled spring but with great restraint... YEAH!
Do you know where the title comes from?
One of the Disney Parks (I don't remember which one), as part of it's Covid-19 re-opening plan, suggested to patrons that screaming on a ride is a good way to spread the coronavirus, so instead they ask…
Oh yeah LOVE those guitars... the drums, bass and guitars just gel so gorgeously. And that title makes for a superb chorus. Makes a lot more sense to me here in a song than it does as a theme park motto!! lol
Round two of what?
I'd tell you if I had even the slightest idea.
I'm pretty pleased with this one. Well, I don't completely hate it at least. I think it could have benefited from some rehearsing, which during 50/90 is asking a lot…
Nice one... I do like that "Here comes round two" hook... And I've just looked up 50/90... you're a crazy man!!! Crumbs, a song every two days for 3 months solid!! I could probably write the songs, but I could never record them in that time frame! Anyways - mighty cool, I shall keep listening and cheer you on from the sidelines.
Do you ever have an idea / song that you just need to get out of you and recorded, even though it's so rough that you'll want to re-do it over and over again? This is one of those for me....

Awesome recording, LOVE IT!!!
Don't normally like cover songs...unless they're turned on their head. And you have done a killer job...Great.
Straight out of the Commitments sound track I say.....Great track
Very amazing.
Good song all around. All the instruments interact well and the recording is clean. You have a great soulful tone to your voice.
I have the BR1600CD, I recorded almost all my stuff on it!
Some nice dynamics, sounds like a pretty polished pop rock tune!
Some excellent stuff here, nice one. :)

These two, and having them as the soundtrack to reading up about what exaptation is... wow, very thought provoking...
Oh yes, very cool.
Cool and interesting sounds... and once again I learn a new word... Definitely listening to 2 now!

That's really cool, like it.
Nice one. I'm sure I've heard you sing this before? But I can't find it anywhere... Anyways, I'm fairly certain this is a new version - and it's fab
