This is my second piece for the RPM challenge... And it's a big milestone for me... the first time I ever played my own instrument along with it! It's rough, but you gotta keep trying and start somewhere, right? Greg Connor... you'll understand…
I wrote this song while out hiking some awesome trails in Zion National Park... gave me some excellent inspiration. I also tried some different stuff with the mixing and using my keyboard... so trying to push a few of my envelopes...

Colleen, thank you for your kind words. I count you as a part of what I like to think of as the Easy Folk gang, along with Greg Connor, Mark Imsdahl, Steve Krell, Terry Brown, Roger Harris, Ron Rouch, Big Time Operator, Paul Lennon, James Michael Taylor, and several other good people on AloneTone who have found their way into my heart and mind.
AloneTone is huge, with literally HUNDREDS of member musicians. But if you go to the site's home page, click on "Artists" and then "dedicated listeners," you'll find me in 1st place. My other three profiles on AT are also on that first page. Add them all together and you will note that I take AT seriously, and I've come to know who out of the hundreds are particularly special artists to follow, not just for their talent but for their heart.
There are some on AT who are mind-blowing musical geniuses, but who will never thank you for a comment and never play your music. Then there are those who may not be particularly awesome, but they'll play every song you post. As you may have heard, I'm not suppose to be in this world much longer -- I've already lived beyond my doctor's prediction -- and with what extra days I'm blessed I've been dedicating to AT as a listener.
And when I go, all I have to leave the world is my music. I want people to play my music when I'm gone, as a way of keeping me alive. And I can't want that without lending my own ear to others while I'm here. But there's a lot of music on AT and only so many hours a day to play any of it. But I know who on AT appreciates the listen, and who doesn't care if I listen or what I think or even if I exist.
So I dedicate my time and ear to those who do care. People like you. And when I find AT people who care, people like you, in my mind I add them to my Easy Folk gang. Welcome to the gang. It's a blast having you in the mix.
Happy Sunday Alonetoner's.
I wrote this song yesterday as I had some recent events to ponder.... I hope you like it. Trying for a bit of a bluesy feel. If you'd like to download it and add some background blues bass or guitar, or harmonies…

At least 3 of my favorite musicians are hanging in or about Minneapolis, namely, Greg, Mark, and Colleen. Must be all the snow and moose sightings that keep y'all so artistically inspired.

I hope Brian (one of us Proods) will forgive me for posting this before we could get together to work on it further. He first played it for me a few months ago and I've been obsessively tweaking it every chance I could get.
I like to imagine…
AAAHHHH!!!!! Love that distinctive Proods sound. I have a dream someday we all get together for the biggest jam. Wouldn't that be fun! Thanks for posting this!
Didn't want to write this song … I figured there were one-thousand songwriters (here in north Texas alone) that were stuck at home and writing goofy songs about the virus. But, it wouldn't leave me alone, so I recorded it to get it out of my head.
Okay.... your inner hillbilly has clearly been dying to get out!!! The fiddleheads are almost ripe for picking and Mama’s reappearing in my dreams!! Best Lyrics ever! What kind of moonshine are you brewing down on Labradoodle lane these days?
I love Wilsun's 2020 RPM album "Departure", so I decided to cover it (yes, the whole album), but with a twist. I found some bits to be repetitive, so I removed them. I wrote down the lyrics and chords, and promptly ignored the originals, making…
Well the virus has my friend and music partner in Krakow Poland sheltering in place but we are using the time to write and record..here is our latest...we tried to write in the style of Motown...check it out ... all music and production by Art…
Ok... This made me so happy to hear new music from you!!!! Love the style. Made me want to get up and do my "shelter in place dance!" Your voice sounds great. Fun lyrics too!!! Thanks for the awesome pick-me-up!!!!
One more listen from me here in snowy MN. And still love your voice as always. Thanks so much for all the feedback you've given me on my songs! So appreciated!!!!
Another groovy tack from the Proods. Chad the Bad is the name of a terrible monster movie we shot back in ourMass Art days. It's been kicking around for too many years, so we're finally putting it out there, hoping you enjoy it more than my fellow…
I hope I don't meet Chad the Bad in a dark alley anytime, even though he sounds like a pal in the end... Love that guitar jam! So fun to hear new music from the wonderful Proods! Hope you all are well.

Reading a book

We have that same Grumman! We keep having to put pine tar on the rivets as it’s a leaker after 50 years in Northern MN. I agree! It’s the kind of thing that shorter people do! Awesome song 💚
