This is the very last of the stink recorded in my old studio. A spontaneous improvisation on Congas and Bata drums (dressed ceremonially with bells).

Something about this makes me "sway". These earth rhythms are neat stuff! JohnBee

Not at all, Norm. In fact, thanks so much for being technical. Baiao is a preset pattern in EZD from a collection called "Cocktail". I just stumbled upon it in the planning stages of this tune and it seemed perfect. I YouTubed some Baiao vids. The rhythms are infectious. Thanks again! John Bowen

The song starts off as a minimalistic ambient piano piece but grows gradually into a full-blown instrumental with world music and even jazz elements. The song was partially inspired by Sherry Horman’s 2009 movie Desert Flower.

Lovely! Naturally, the percussion hooked me right away. I love it. "Baiao", from a clave perspective, is "calypso", in that it repeats the 1st bar of "son clave", I.e. 1 2+ 4, over and over. I don't want to be too technical about this, but wanted to give you some feedback that from a percussionist perspective, this is a solid piece of work, with a rhythm that gives a nice flavor - from Trinidad or Brazil. Well done!

Admital - the main guitar part for this was written and recorded for last RPM (shock horror!)but I had to give up on it when the file corrupted. Managed to salvage the audio though so rebuilt it around that. This year I managed to mix down just…

Awesome, I wish I had more time these days to keep up with everyone. This one was beautiful, tender. I wish the vocals were just a bit higher in the mix... my ears aren't very good. :D

Gary has very kindly allowed me to add a bit of bass to this rather niffty number.

Kinda reminds me of Mose Alison, I don't know why. I like the lyrics and the slide guitar work!

Cool song, nice production with 'lazy' rhythms and good sound.
