The Common Thread Is You

I wrote this story with the intent to let the listener decide for themselves who the common thread may be…. But for me I’ll dedicate this to my dear family and long time friends. Thanks for always being there for me.

I hope you enjoy this MN coffee table recording. It was recorded with the talents of Greg Connor and Mark Lofgren on guitars, and I’m on ukulele and lead vocals around the MN Coffee Table in Greg’s basement studio.

The Common Thread Is You

VERSE 1
When I look back and ponder
On the times both good and bad
The things that made me who I am
A mother, a lover, a friend
A life that’s been worth living
With dreams yet to come true
You’ve always been there with me
The common thread is you

CHORUS
The common thread is you
The good, the wild, the wicked
The times I should’ve and didn’t
The past, the present, what isn’t
The common thread is you
The good, the wild, the wicked
The times I should’ve and didn’t
The common thread is you

VERSE 2
A life full of adventure
A heart with age now true
I’ve tried it all, seen the rise and fall
Wisdom echoes from my youth
Sometimes I pushed but you held your ground
Giving love, and peace, and truth
You’ve always been there with me
The common thread is you

BRIDGE
Whatever you are
Wherever you go
You’re still in my heart
The one truth that I know

REPEAT CHORUS

Wow! That turned out pretty good. It's such a great song, and I think we captured some of that. I like the was the bridge turned out with just your voice and uke.

Saved!
