The Prince And The Water Maiden

Well now - this is a collaboration between myself and lady Jane. It’s an odd tale about a prince and a water maiden, with a twist in the “tail”.

Sounds quite 70’s prog rock - hear it out for the twist.

Lyrics:
“In a land far away, lived a prince who must reign over his people

But lonely he lay, every night, there was no bride his equal

He longed for love, he begged the stars above

Show me a sign, I’ve lost enough time

There has to be someone for me

Along came a traveller, who told him a tale of the water

There in the river, was a princess, the river god’s daughter

She is most fair, her song can fill the air

Seek her and find, be one of her kind,
Join her in song, it’s where you belong

Take both her hands, together you’ll stand – as one.

[and so the prince set off on his journey, until he came to the river, and saw, amid the water, the princess he’d sought, and he listened to her sing]

The sun is shining, and the rivers flowing
I knew I’d find you, down by the water”

Hope you like, as much as Jane and I did building it together.

JB might add some lead at a later date.
