Wow! John, Paul, and George with Young/Young/Williams/Rudd backing them... I can't think of a better combination for me to listen to.
The chorus is just sublime.
And George Martin at the controls... lol (just reached the end).
Almost perfect Gary - LOVE IT!!
This one started as a the title line while driving in my car. All I had was the line and it's melody. I built the song around that about 6 months later. The lyrics are self explanatory.
What's rock and roll without a yee-haw or war-whoop before a solo?
This ragged piece of something or other came from a riff I had laying around for a couple of years. I pieced it together kind of last minute for RPM 2006. It's not bad, a lot…
Allelujiah-This was supposed to be a completely different song, but this one just wrote itself instead. It’s almost all first take, except for the bass, which took a while to get straight so that it wouldn’t overwhelm the song. It has this tone…
Summer Grass- I didn’t originally intend for this to be the title track, but since most, though not all, of the songs on this album sound like summer to me, I decided, why not? The guitar even sounds humid and warm, but in that nice July way…
A little fun riff that came from noodling on my Epi whilst watching the idiot box one night. It's kind of written for a friend who is a little lost in a self-imposed exile from life.
Top Of The Pops circa 1972! Remember when all those bands in the early 70's where adding synth to every song but the lyrics meant something (sometimes)? Pure excitement, pure bubblegum, pure fun. Well, this is my offering and thanks to all of…
OK i geddit. Those vocals - there is a place in my heart that loves them before they even start. It must be 3 or 4 bands rolled into one but they are hitting the spot. The Beatles/Cream/Status Quo and The Carpenters all in the same throat! Magical!
This song started as the riff on my Strat while fooling around with some FX. I knew it needed to be a big dance number, and then realized there is a great story about the power of music and dance, which I hid in the lyrics. See if you can figure…

Hold On- Ok, this one is really hard. Not in a rock sense, but other ways. Musically, this song really dances on the line of schmaltz, and a few times, trips over it. I had a hard time singing some of the lines, since I don’t have a pretty voice…

One of my first favorite songs...I had this idea floating around for years, even tried it with the band in late 98-99. This 2001 recording comes closest to capturing what I hear in my head.
This one seems to have a lot more dynamic range than the other ones. Suits me better as I'm not usually a "loud guy" ... Great 60s/70s touch again. Just the way I like it! :)
Be careful. She's pretty powerful.
SHE WALKS
She walks on the leaves without making a sound
She walks like she can’t hear the dragons all around
She walks and the sun stays a pace or two behind
She walks with your secrets in the back…
Welcome to my day on the river with Karen, folks.
INTO THE LIGHT (THIS LAZY RIVER)
Take me down to the river
Throw the jackets in the hull of the boat
Let the current deliver
To the bend at the bridge where it’s harder to float
What…
Diminished Wattage - The first single from the Signals|Noise album. This song is based on an actual conversation where it was insisted that the fog in San Francisco is not real, but rather a chemical produced by the government. This actually inspired…
This is not about choosing sides, it's about being disillusioned and angry. Feels good to shout behind loud guitars. Thanks Steve Litras for the guitar solo.
All the drones march in lock step into the rally where our protagonist is swept into world of fear that only feeds his paranoia. This will make sense when the complete album released, I promise. :-)
We try to include a song about a donkey on each record. This is a factually accurate tale of Romulus, the world's tallest donkey.
lyrics
Romulus is 12 years old and 17 hands
At 5 foot 8 he’s taller than Oklahoma Sam
The world’s tallest donkey…
Pop music. Dance songs. Sub bass. Lovely ladies in Cornwall singing along. What more could you want?
lyrics
This is the least impressive dance song
You’ve heard out on the dance floor
But as you listen to it
You want MORE MORE MORE…
The last place you can go in any time zone is Howland Island.
Can’t get this out of my head
The last words that you said
Tried to make you stay
Still you went away
You think you understand
But you’re just a man
This thing is bigger…
a WAV format version of the album is available on soundcloud

Do I have to wake today?
will I have to go to hell?
well, the seasons in the sub are close and toasty lover
come on and try me if you will…
Very quick to write and record. Basically done from start to finish in about an hour and a half (I look at the clock).
Despite it's brevity, there's quite a lot going on (especially in how exact I've tried to be with the harmonies, and double…
Written for the RPM2017 (album in a month) challenge.
The 70s vibe should be obvious, and this was written on electric piano, (unusually for me). The opening keys riff is one of the only moderately funky sounding things I can play. I am not…

A beautiful end to this great album
Good old 70s rock - that's what your music sounds to me. Really fun to listen to.
Your singing style reminds me of John Mellencamp on "John & Diane". Good job!
I don't know if it sounds like Summer, but it sure sounds like good song to me.
Gary, this is a really cool tune. Nice guitar work
And This!! yes 1972! I'm right back in that living room (and the speakers are way better)
Oh This!!

Fantastic, one of the best songs I heard on Alonetone so far.
This is so retro, fantastic!
This whole piece is ear candy
Rocks!

Just a brilliant track!
Great Tune!

This is my favourite track on your album Gary. Just great!! A most enjoyable album altogether.

Sounds more like 1982 to be. ;) :P Either way it sounds superb. You have achieve a level of professionalism that most of us will never achieve.

Very ethereal, nice one...
I love this song, Keith.
This is very cool and eclectic record. Nice work!
I want to see this song played live in a dark sweaty club.
Cool number, love the tone of it!
You should hear this in the cold wind of NH right now. It fits perfectly. Nice one!
Great song! I think it's time to take this album on the road.
I have to tell you, this is a great sounding record!
Dude, this is a kick-@$$ album...
I really like the interplay between the guitars in the left-right channels. Nice chorus hook!
Cool track! Need more instrumentals in my life...
And finally, the donkey song. I was getting worried.
I love this, except that I can't get it out of my head. I keep wanting...more
I really like this number.
Love the guitar work on this.
These are some great, trippy songs, my good sir. Love the twists...
Very cool, very, very cool.
Great guitar intro, cool song.
Holy...those harmonies...wow...wow.
1977! Dude, this is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant!
