one of those 'it was written even before i started' songs that just rolls out like magic
i tried to keep it simple so as not to destroy the vibe
first finished (if unmixed) track for RPM 2010
A happy song about being left by your no-good spouse. There's a word for the attitude in this song but I can't think of it right now ...
this is now a tidied up version 18/3/09
Cave Street posted a track recently, their contribution to the Woody Guthrie Project, organised by Akron Family.

This is a bonus track as it didn't make the album
For those of you who know my stuff - does this sound like it works? or is it too much like filler - the vocals are effected, there's a drum loop - the guitar is just chopped out of a jam - i…

I know I sent you a private message about this at RPM, but it's tracks like this that remind me what I love about music. Thanks so much and faved (as well as a few others) I'm still only halfway through too :), I think I'm gonna have to make an RPM mix CD this year!

I believe 'yarrrr' is Pirate for "More Rum, by the salty sheets of Windy Gail". So it could be wearing thin, but is more likely just a little slurred LOL
My Pirate song. Sounds more like a polka band, but what the hell. I had fun doing it.
a song for Gumbo.
we sailed the angry seas
til we found a neutral port
we rowed the ship to shore
to go and find a fancy whore
down at the Buccaneer inn…

This is my 2007 Pirate Day song, written and recorded September 19th 2007. I like the innuendo, but maybe it's too subtle - nobody else seems to notice ;~)
I've been working on this one little by little; now I'm at a point where I do not feel like revisiting the feeling. Moves from 3/4 to 4/4, or so I think.. kind of like a 7/4 time sig but not really. typical glu instrumentation, etc.

Thanks guys and gals. It's be great to have a few more Piratical Ditty's slipping through onto the airwaves this year. I'll be doing another one for sure.
Does my accent sound Cornish?
Wicked!
This was written and recorded on 19th September 05
aka International Talk Like A Pirate Day 2005 ( a wet afternoon as I recall) and is posted here so you start to get the hint.
Thanks Kirk, that's fine by me!
Pirate Day is a right laugh, and a good excuse for a fun song.
Sister - that's fine by me, too LOL thankee. It was a few years ago - I'm a lot more decrepit, now, of course.

Cheers! Some good drowning yourself in whiskey music. Catchy in a good way.
Yawl did good on this, I love WG. Thanks for the link!
great old timey feel...right out of woody's boot heel
Big fat fave. Love this, Stu - your voice sounds awesome (and I love those low down dirty notes especially!).
Really enjoyed that Gumbo.
Great tune, well done!

Classic, 'bo! Love it!
Great playing, Sir.
*agrees with Jay* Can I just come along and cook the beans?
Another one to keep for those nice summer evenings. I wanna go camping with you and a couple of guitars Stu!
This one had me wanting to play along
I'm keeping this one for myself for summer.

Thank God for El Dineenio
A passion play for our times.
Ah yes - this ol' stunner - beautiful. (good call moschell!)
added to the Pirate Radio list, by the Scunners!
What could be more Piratical than a Polka Band! Yargghh for the house band, and circulate the flaggons lads!
re: Cornish - that's a puzzle then re: Pirate love songs - plenty of room for a love song - Pirates have big hearts - just ask Davy Jones!
Great. I added it to the Pirate Radio Playlist, Alan. Cheers.

I dig the tune, too. Nice powerful undercurrent to it.
I wasn't drunk. *Oh no ...* Not me ...
Songs about the Sea. Yes. And on the sea ... ships? ... and in the ships? PIRATES?? No? Oh. Sorry.
Wow!
Thank you.
