I unleash my secret weapon!
Guest vocalist Shaka brings the icing to this rather haunted version of the first chapter of Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier!
Another great tune. I'm quite of envious of your natural (sounding) skill embodying the style. Your playing and singing always strikes me as being perfect.
one of those 'it was written even before i started' songs that just rolls out like magic
i tried to keep it simple so as not to destroy the vibe
first finished (if unmixed) track for RPM 2010

I'm not sure if this is rockabilly or late 40s jump R'n'B. Dance music though. I had fun with the lyrics and the backing vocals.
This is now a tidied up version 18/3/09

Reg has left re-hab but now he has to fill those sober hours with something, so he has taken to people watching, but like everything in his life he has become addicted to it, listening in on there private conversation as he follows them, watching…
Well it had to happen sometime, he couldn't go on living the way he was, even with those full throttle hands there was no excuse, he was guilty....... guilty as charged........RPM2011
Sloane did me a favor & played an electric guitar part on this one. I had hoped to work with her more on this project, but she wound up leaving town to help take care for a recovering family member.

Goodbye Blue Monday

Goodbye blue Monday
There's nothing else to say
We always knew
we would part this way
Time comes to say goodbye
To pause perhaps and wonder why
Why we always had to be
So blue, so blue
I can see that life…
This song was born on the 18th of Feb. 2011. It was the last piece I wrote/recorded for the challenge. It was a very sad day for me, almost as if all my usual winter sadness was concentrated and crammed into one day. The process of writing and…

While Reg was travelling the country he met an old Indian gentleman called Abdul Aziz in a newsagents in the city of Bradford in the North of England while buying his morning paper. Reg struck up a conversation with the old man and they got on…
New one from me. It's ended up as a bit of a "crying into yer beer at Bob's Country Bunker" sort of song lol...
I've been sat on these lyrics in some form or another for absolutely years. I first wrote them one very dark night a few years after…

Sweeeeet!
I like it!
Very enjoyable. Keep up the good work.
nothing valuable to offer critique wise i'm afraid, other than to say that as usual this was thoroughly enjoyed.
I Love the subtleties in your playing and your voice...sublime! A great song!
This stuff is great! I'm a fan!
Excellent music...rustic and real.
absolutely no hesitation is saying it all works. lyrics, mix, the lot. cracking stuff this. really really like this.
Magic indeed. Awesome.
I think the lyrics fit perfectly with the tempo, they were made for each other. The harmonies are a brilliant touch. It's really great Gumbo.
No need for tweaking: this is perfect.
Another nice and beautiful tune. Your RPM album sounds like it was designed to be right up my alley, as last year's was.
cool tune
I think it's great! Don't change a thing!
Super feel here, harmonies are wonderful, the whole dang thing is wonderful.
Deadly roots music. Authentic and real. Nice.
Got a stand up bass? That's what I imagine, but otherwise it's a great track!

I love the way you all don't stick to one rhythm yet it still sounds solid as-a-rock!
