An unusual traditional tune from the first Scartaglen album way back in 1984. Going through stuff the other day and ran across the LP and couldn't even remember the tune or having recorded it. I played guitar on this track
This track is from the 1986 Scartaglen album "The Middle Path". The first tune "Jezaig" was composed by Breton musician Gilles Le Bigot. The second tune is one of the "Cantigas de Santa Maria" and is attributed to King Alfonso X of Spain

Something completely different- Uilleann pipes(Irish bagpipes) and synth. I wrote this tune over 20 years ago in the style of traditional Irish slow airs. It was recorded way back in 1991 for an album that's been out of print for over 15 years…
This is probably the last of this stuff from the archives that I'll upload. Rescued from a cassette tape of a live performance with former band mates in Scartaglen. These tunes are popular down in the Southwest of Ireland. Michael(Fiddle) and…
Had these backing tracks laying around on my drive for a while and didn't know what to do with them, so grabbed my Ebow and a fretless electric that I built for myself a couple years ago and had a go. My fretless playing is really in its infancy…
My first attempt at a Blumlein or Mid/Side recording. This one is actually a mid/side recording as I used a directional mic in combo with a figure 8 ribbon mic set at 90 degrees from the main mic. Thanks to Pat Broaders for the loan of the ribbon…

Kinda rough. I'm uploading this mainly to share a guitar technique I've been working on. I'm wearing a slide on my picking hand and using it to alter pitches in single line phrases. There's a lot more can be done with this technique that I've…
Lovely sounds. I can't figure out how you're using the slide on the picking hand - or I can't here where it might be in use... but just as a piece of music and playing this is beautiful.

What happened after too much time on youtube watching live vids of "voodoo chile" Noisy obnoxious and very cathartic for me! Live to 2tracks with the Jamman
Sitting around in my shop a couple of days ago with the Goodall and the Zoom H4N. First time I've really messed with using the internal mics on the H4N in multitrack mode

Very cool guitars going on, creating a cool mellow atmosphere taking one into an upbeat movement of the mind and then back, Great !!!, having a cool listen. "G"
music by Bryan Baker & Joe Maki. Rhythm guitar, electric piano, synth strings, percussion, drums, vocals by Bryan Baker. Lead guitars, bass by Joe Maki.
Something you don't often hear from me and that's
straight drummin'. On this track I left the
original L/R kit track because it just sounded
more raw and nasty. Listen close and you'll hear different levels on the high hat. Plus, you can…
This is inspired by Frippitronics. Frippontroncis is I call non-traditional mood music invented by Robert Fripp master guitarist for King Crimson. It involves loops of sustained guitars, in this case using an e-bow. I usually do one of these…
Hey Kids, Happy RPM. Surf's up! I played this one for my lady, she said she wants to move to California. I'm not sure if that's because I've been wired up in the Dog House for 9 days or if she wishes to try some surfing. Go figure....
Anyway…
Well I *had* intended to try doing something different this week.
So technically I succeeded.
It's solo piano again, but I had to teach my left hand how to play this somewhat syncopated bass line, before I could actually compose against it…
When I uploaded this last night I thought it was a failure, this morning I am not so sure. I've just listened to it again and, while it fails to live up to my expectations when I started, there's something about it that I like.
The initial…
Dark and sinister indeed! I like the use of your voice and the fact this it's incoherent makes it better. OOOOOH! That laughter at the end just caps it off!

War is tough. War is tough on everyone. and War has it's dues. So without further ado I entreat our men and women of the US Military an awesome Electronica piece that will rock your heart out.
just finished this one, represents a slightly new direction i am taking i think.
i am particuarly proud of the polyrhythmic sound i achieved. i was worried it mite become too cluttered (at the beginning) but i think i achieved clarity.

Haunting!
I can't imagine what it took to put this together. It's so dense, but it works really well!
I'm loving the way this is slowly developing at about the 5 and 6 minute marks. I'm still jealous of your clean guitar sounds!
Wow! Great stuff! This would be a blast to improvise over
