I'm a complete idiot when it comes to all things midi related. Recently got myself a midi keyboard though and came up with this short piece just messing with sounds in Proteus. Really looking forward to the possibilities of combining this sort…

Mining the archives a bit. This is an alternate take of my "Jimi Jam" from a couple of years ago. Live to 2 tracks with the Jamman. Really only sounds OK when cranked up loud enough that your eardrums threaten to meet in the middle. LOL!!

I'm always jealous of people who can make the wah work like this. Whenever I use a foot wah I always feel like I sound like someone trying to balance on it rather then play it!

I like the sounds alot...and combining it with acoustic sounds is def. a good idea. Looking forward to hearing what else you do with it!
I have always been interested in midi. There are so many tasks you can control with it. Would be perfect for a live show...can't you control lights with midi too?? From what little I have gathered...
you can trigger other programs to open..or trigger another song..ect...ect. It is a powerful tool.

Recently, my wife and I discovered the TV show Portlandia, and it has become our Saturday morning ritual to watch the latest episode with our coffee. Anyways, I kind of got the theme song (http://www.ifc.com/fix/2011/02/portlandia-whats-that…

About twenty billion years ago, when dinosaurs roamed the earth and Roland's D50 was new, I found this patch called "spanisheart" and plunked down a new-agey tune. Which I promptly forgot about for years. Every now and then, I catch myself playing…
The theme for Improv Friday this week is "variations". So here's an improv reconstruction of the one classical piece I know, Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring.
I was thumbing a ride along a hot, deserted Caribbean road. When Steve pulled up in this vintage pre-war Chevy, I was very grateful. It just so happened he was heading to the same cantina I was, so we kicked back with a pitcher of mojitos…
Oh bright morning star
Draw me to your light
How far do I have to travel
How many lonely nights
I don’t know where I’m heading
Just don’t lead me astray
In my search for tomorrow
Or for a better day
Oh bright morning star
Draw me to your light…

We know that someday they will come through
All that’s needed is lower taxes
That’s what they’re waiting for us to do
We think it’s great they have so much money
We know they’ll spend it responsibly…
Featuring Mark Hubbard & Duma, on didj & percussion respectively, this one begins as the most traditionally structured piece on the album. But don't get used to it, it doesn't last long... just enough to ease you into the formlessness…
Random mischief. Ableton died halfway, so couldn't mix drums and bass properly. Ofcourse, then I rage and delete every Ableton file on the laptop. Heh, TMI.
Comments on kirklynch's stuff
Thanks much, Kirk; again- cool stuff here. Where do you get your sounds/samples from? Also- what do you record on?
*Excited about new direction* You're fantastic! Can't wait for 2010 Lynch!
Riiiight, my earlier comment made NO sense because I popped it on the wrong track. Just repositioning it now. More appropriate comment: "This rocks."
"Jimi Jam" is right on! Excellent!
I really dig this alternate version too! I'm downloading this now.

I enjoyed this kirk - it's great to hear a bit of funk in the mix
Excellent!
Oh now things are really gonna change round here! El Lynch has keys! This is gorgeous! Tropical garden of magic!
great job Kirk. It will be nice to hear more of your experiments with midi.
One of my favorite tracks.
Cool track man. I'm with you on the midi thing. I know nothing. Except I have a cable around here somewhere...........
