This demo recording turned out particularly well, especially when compared to how most of my MYTHOPOETICA recordings sound. The lead guitar employs an Eastern Folk scale and style of picking, greased with GEM-style Blues butter.
SUPER YOU…

Psychedelic Folk. Ever meet that special someone in a laundromat? Ever do it on top the dryer? Either way, you’re sure to dig this clean groove. Compilation by Stephen L. Krell and Gene Eric Mann.
One of my favorite recordings and favorite songs. The drums of this Political Folk tune was generated with the Yamaha E313. The lead guitar break needs replaced with a violin, but…
THE FINAL HOUR
Welcome to the final hour
Everybody kneel…
Another Psychedelic Sea Shanty. This one follows a Fox Trot beat. I didn’t have a mic screen when I recorded the vocal tracks – my voice is piercing at moments. Hope you are nonetheless able to enjoy the mix-down. Pan flute by Starry Nightmoth…
This song is really intriguing. A who done it sort of tale. I love the line that Poor Old Admiral Smith....he's not with! Really make a person try to hear the lyrics that follow just to find out exactly what went down! Amazing how so much of a story forms by the end!
A Sea Shanty with a bit of Psychedelic seasoning. Guest artist Starry Nightmoth performs the “harmonica” on a Yamaha KB as the song fades out.
37 SAILS
Thirty-seven sails be a full rigged ship
Open up ye hatch and pour ye spirit down…
Really cool song! The theme and melody are really memorable. The riff with the fife/synth is really cool. I like the other synth sounds too. Like seagulls circling a ship at points! Also the strumming is really rich and full! Great way to start the day!

One of my better Psych Folk recordings. Intro voice and keyboards by Starry Nightmoth. BG rhythm/drums generated using a Yamaha E313 KB. Lyrics, music and all other instruments and vocals are my fault.

Not an overall bad recording, and I’m quite pleased with the lyrics of this Psychedelic Folk tune.
FUTURE BOUND
Should I take the left or should I pass it by zoom?
Lost my faith in maps, so how will I decide zoom?
Spirits crying to be…
Thanks for your kind comments! I've been listening through your stuff, I'm amazed with how much material you have, you seem to pull riffs out of thin air! Good use of sound fx for storytelling :)
JUMPSUIT BLUES
As I slept this morning,
I dreamed of what you said
How you said you loved me,
And from my toes to head
Then I woke to Chow Call,
Prison walls around my bed
‘Morning to you, Jesus!
How did you sleep last night…

Crumbs - this is good... Listening on headphones, wondering whether I've been drinking or not.
Started out as very relaxing - slightly disturbing after a while! lol
The thunder and rain came as a welcome release of the tension.
Really well put together.
I love hearing her sing -- she's so good at it. I totally dig the tempo, the rhythm, the pauses, the picking, everything. This recording is full of style and class. A fabulous job, y'all!
Well, this is completely different! Sounds like a successful experiment. I'm impressed that you're not only not stuck to one genre, but that your skills are wide and encompassing. Great job, Holly!
Makes me want to call all my warrior friends to arms against the goblin scourge! Very nicely done. If you're not already, you should be a composer in the gaming industry.
Update: Gene offered to improve the Mix on this song! This is that improved version. Thanks so much Gene! You are awesome!!!
I wrote this song earlier this summer, and had played it a few times with Greg Connor, fellow alone toner, and…
At least 3 of my favorite musicians are hanging in or about Minneapolis, namely, Greg, Mark, and Colleen. Must be all the snow and moose sightings that keep y'all so artistically inspired.
Second song by Martin Fox
Was on a Pete Townshend kick lately. this one came to me as i was listening to the random recordings on my phone. still not happy with the vocal mix. we spent a lot of time tweaking too.
Having wrote a song myself called "Last Night," I had to check out yours. I'm with Greg on the bounce and Fat Burrito on the harmony. Can definitely discern a "The Who" influence, and that's just far out groovy.
Your tone is not Neil, but your style, your delivery, is very much Neil. This is a really enjoyable recording. Very exciting, very tastefully done. ROCK ON!
Pleasure boats and fishermen
Tugboat pushin three barges wide
Sit on the banks from morn till evening
Wave to the people as they pass me by
Up in Minnesota she’s fast and cold
Walleye fishing just below the dam
Go and catch em til…
The poetry is excellent, and the music is dark yet delicious -- like chocolate. Great vocal delivery. The mix down and mastering job produced a powerful recording. Gripping, reaching deep within this listener. I'm going to be following you hereafter. This is really fantastic, fabulous -- brilliantly done!
another for the RPM......
ALL I NEED
I’m sat up here at the top of the road
I’m sat up here and i’m all alone
I’m sat up here waiting for you to come on home
I’m sat up here at the top of the road
i’m waiting for you
and all i want is…
The music is a Stephen Stills-style early '70s-flavor of that effective country/folk rock formulae of simple and sweet, allowing the lyrics and vocals to shine. And in this case your vocals do the lyrics serious justice, and those lyrics are moving, touching. They sucked me in, inviting me to visualize the setting and experience the emotions. This is a for-real good bit of songwriting. This was how it was done in our day, but the art seems lost on the under 30 generation.
This is the first time I have played in drop D
this is a Springsteen song that he borrowed the title from a Pete Seeger song..and I like the way Warren Haynes plays it live...so here is my humble attempt at it...

Comments on Gene Eric Mann's stuff
Thanks for always being so wonderful Gene! May you smile on us and enjoy the music of the Gods!
Goodbye, Gene. Thanks for all the listens and constructive comments.
Working my way back on your music catalog. this is fantastic. trippy washed guitars and the lyrics are spot on.
Nice twist on the Beatles classic... very interesting. I like it!
Clever! I think a lot of work went into this one. Thanks for your comment on my song. Paul
I woke up thinking about this song. I had to come and take another listen. It's the only *WASHING MACHINE* song I know of.
Outputy! loving this..
Just discovered this one in the mix.... wow!!!! What a beautiful song and amazing arrangement.

Strange...in a good way. Some mid PF studio output work right there.
You Rock my dear friend!!♥
Lovin it!

Hey Gene, love the sound and the songs ,ya did a great job, hope you got our private message, we're new at this ,, Jack & Cindy
I'm totally digging this! It reminds me of old Barrett-era Pink Floyd.
Yup... I'm a sucker for Eastern influence :)
Amazing lyrics!!!!
I love this track, it gets better every time I hear it......

Dig. Sweet picking at the end. I'm DTD about the length - I could have stood a few more seconds of that. It was just getting juicy!
I visualize this one, personally, as being perfect for a one-on-one battle, but good for both a contest between warriors or wizards.
Makes me want to call all my warrior friends to arms against the goblin scourge! Very nicely done. If you're not already, you should be a composer in the gaming industry.
A very lovely arrangement!
You know your way around the keyboard! Gorgeous selection and arrangement of chords.
All those tasty guitar tracks -- yummy!

Short, but to the point, and effective! Nice vocals and strumming style. Good melody.
Big time fun! Rock on!

The percussion section is exceptionally groovy. Great job on the harmonica. Well, really, all of it is great.
That lead break is really something!

Dirty Deep Dark D -- Damn Delightful, Dude!
My soul-mate, "Starry Nightmoth," wanted me to tell you she really likes this. She had me play it again, and got no argument from me!
