Two were dancin', one he played guitar
He was singin' how she broke his heart
Some were smokin', smoke rings filled the air
One was flirtin', playin' with her hair

I got the speakers turned all the way up Gene!
We've been through a lot. Remember all the song writing challenges at EZFolk? I never thought I would have so many friends that I will never meet in person.
Your last song is something to be proud of. I was taken by the lyrics bouncing between acceptance and denial. Steve mentioned the chord changes. Mark talked about the weight of the message.
We were honored that you asked us for a little help.

Greg, Steve, Mark:
I am so touched, so moved. This final mix down brought a tear to my eye and a chill to my bone. Y'all handle this song with great care and delicacy and made a marvelous bit of music. I'm right proud of all of you and my friendship with you. I'm very lucky to have had this chance to make this beautiful song with such beautiful souls with what days I've been graced with. Thank you all so very much!

A Sea Shanty with a bit of Psychedelic seasoning. Guest artist Starry Nightmoth performs the “harmonica” on a Yamaha KB as the song fades out.

Thirty-seven sails be a full rigged ship

A fun little Blues jam. The BG rhythm/drums were generated with the Yamaha E313 KB. All other noises are my fault.

If someone can do some Bodhran drum in the final mix it would add a lot. Rick's songs always had the beat and place for one in them. Great job Greg. Great lyrics Mr. Mann
This is the bonus track for "The Best of GEM" playlist.
APATHY AND GREED
Apathy and greed is in the human seed
"I need more, to Hell with you" we say so well
How we live and play to get us through the day

Collaboration with my sister. Figured I should put it in. Have you ever felt like you were bad news for those that dated you? Well this song is about that feeling. (All songs are a work in progress)
something i found on my pc that i never put bass to, never sorted out the clipping samples on, and that I now no longer have in any form bar this file. shame
To whoever job it is to hire sick, twisted, evil, ignorant, racist bastards to be cops, deputies, prison guards, and border patrol agents: can you please just stop already? Anyway, back to your recording -- the imagery it generated in my mind was quite interesting. Love the synths.
Stoner rock with a hint of Grunge. Inspired by Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss, Monster Magnet, Masters of Reality, Karma to Burn, Joy Division, Fu Manchu, Nirvana, Clutch. Desert Rock. Space rock. Garage rock.
It does have a loneliness quality to it. But this solitude is on the beach, wading in the incoming tide, with colorful shells underfoot. Nice compilation -- keep grooving!
This is a song I wrote when I was in school*, some 30 years ago or so. The only recording of it dated back to around 1989 or so. I decided to do a new version.
It's a song that illustrates what a weird teenager I was. I'm not anymore - now…

Finally, at last... I've got something finished...
Been working on this for a few weeks.
A bit of a rocker... (and an aging lecherous one at that)
I got it as close as I could and then mixed it loud... I've over-cooked it slightly - but…
I threw this one together tonite/early am...yawnnnnn. Not an exact replica but always a tribute to Jimi's music. I was originally turned on to do this by some new free vst effects I found on the net. A cool fuzz face vst that is very realistic…
I went over to Reg's place the other day and he sort of scared me. He was out on his deck, pitching butts and spilling gin that he couldn't afford. He was a mess and had a crazed look in his eyes. I could tell he was ruminating again about…
