I’m very pleased with how the lead guitar break came out on this Political Folk song. The rocket being launched at the song’s intro is Apollo 11, carrying Neil Armstrong and company to Luna.
GOING TO TAKE A LOT
I’ve been watching for some…
A Sea Shanty with a bit of Psychedelic seasoning. Guest artist Starry Nightmoth performs the “harmonica” on a Yamaha KB as the song fades out.
37 SAILS
Thirty-seven sails be a full rigged ship
Open up ye hatch and pour ye spirit down…
This is really nice! I'm not familiar with your music, Gene, so do you write lyrics and music? Are you a one-man-band? This is the first song I've heard, it sounds a lot like Gentle Giant. Beautiful! Thank you
One of my personal favorite recordings from the 52 song MYTHOPOETICA demo collection, even though there’s a sound quality issue (the bass had a bit of a buzz). This was my first time using a wammy bar – I liked it!

This is the bonus track for "The Best of GEM" playlist.
APATHY AND GREED
Apathy and greed is in the human seed
"I need more, to Hell with you" we say so well
How we live and play to get us through the day
Til we hear the bell that summons…

One of my better Psych Folk recordings. Intro voice and keyboards by Starry Nightmoth. BG rhythm/drums generated using a Yamaha E313 KB. Lyrics, music and all other instruments and vocals are my fault.

Unconnected, re: noise reduction on I Lose Control v.2- if you want to, go ahead! I'd like to see what you're able to do. You can email it back to me at songsforthebroken@yahoo.com, and I will put it up and credit you. If you get any ideas while doing that and want to overdub something, feel free to do that as well! Thanks again for listening!

Have a problem with TV evangelists? You won’t have a problem with this number! This Psych Folk tune features Starry Nightmoth on church organ. The rhythm/drum track was generated using a Yamaha E313 KB, the rest is my fault.

Since you showed interest in my songs, I thought I'd check yours out too. But by god, this is impressive! Reminds me of 'Treasure Island' - one of my most favourite books of all time. Thank you for creating this. I love, love, love this.
This is the first time I have played in drop D
this is a Springsteen song that he borrowed the title from a Pete Seeger song..and I like the way Warren Haynes plays it live...so here is my humble attempt at it...
Ooohhh I looooove me some Drop D slip'n'slide Blues! D is for Darkness, and I’ll take Dark Blues over Sky Blues anytime. Ya done good, my man – I hope this isn’t the last time you explore the world of Drop D – most of my songs, especially my Blues, are done in this tuning. It speaks to me. It’d Deep! ;) Rock on!
The idea for the lyrics came from a teaching from a Buddhist monk in Internet, saying pretty much what goes in the title: the only contest worth being in is a happiness contest. To that, I tried to add some cheering lyrics with the usual themes…
This song is the concluding song on my RPM Challenge February album. It is a good-bye to the project.

It has been a lot of fun

If you'd been putting out songs like this in the late '50s and early '60s, during the "British Invasion," and when the market was wide-open, you'd been at least as rich and famous as Eric Burdon of the Animals. You're a master at this style. I love it!
I see in color,
Even when, the words, black and white
I hear in flutters,
Even when, the words come in trite.
After all,
I'm tied to this anchor.
I'm tied to this hull.
Tied to this deck, through the night.
I better get to climbing…
I wrote this song while out hiking some awesome trails in Zion National Park... gave me some excellent inspiration. I also tried some different stuff with the mixing and using my keyboard... so trying to push a few of my envelopes...
Here…
The effects on the voice is particularly cool in this mix down -- just how I would imagine an android would sound, although I must concur with Mark -- not "too" sexy... just sexy enough! :P ;)
I woke up this morning and looked out the window at all of the snow. The endless landscape of blank, frozen emptiness, and I just felt sick. I wanted nothing more than to go back to bed and sleep until May. So what did I do to combat this depression…
The guitar work out in this one is particularly tasty. Intriguing topic. "Hiding from the white" -- for real! Keep it real, Man. The drums and bass and lead guitar and rhythm and chord arrangement and vocals and mix down and mastering -- all of it ROCKS!
The accapella, which I added into this song was very nice resembling the voice of Björk, but unfortunately the original pella was so out of tune, that I had to use autotune to make it fit properly, and I hate using autotune and hearing it. So…
Thanks to this addition by Roger "Dodger" M. Harris, we now have nearly 24 minutes worth of android music on the "How to Assemble Your Android" playlist!
Gorgeous. lovely performance, timely executed, carefully delivered with a tasteful caressing of the ivory. A fabulous composition, moving, touching, reaching beneath the skin for the heart and soul.
RPM 2015 Feb. 18 update: I cut a new vocal for this one which is an improvement, but this mix is still not right. Dunno if I'll have time to fix it before the deadline... (This is the full length track as opposed to the truncated version with…
KAWEAH (says the crow)

Redwood trees are standing still
The murmur of the river will invite you

You'll forget about the clock
The whisper of the sun will…

Neat -- everything is neat; vocals, bass, drums, lyrics... Rock on!
Now that I get it -- VERY COOL! Glad to know you're not leaving the AloneTone family. Keep it real!
Sweet, lovely one.
I really enjoyed the lyrics. Again, that classic Harris style in the music that I for one so appreciate. My soul-mate digs it too.
Groovy! Fun beat!

Brilliant, thoughtful, intriguing lyrics, Sweet vocals. Pleasant strumming technique.
It actually reminds me of some of what I experienced when I got to visit the Serengeti! Cool music, lyrics, and vocals.

Clever lyrics, musical melancholia, pleasant vocals. Thanks for joining the party. I'll add this to the playlist right now.

If John was still with us, he would have wished he wrote this one.
Much of this, for me, strongly echoes the spirit of a young Neil Young.
Prachtig!
Gorgeous! Uw lied is mijn vreugde!
Dit is een prachtig lied! Fabulous! Goed werk! [This is a beautiful song! Fabulous! Great job!]
