My fifth piece for RPM.
Mad funky. Extra goofy.

somehow this song was meant to be silly, but somehow it sounds deadly serious (see jokes, that's how i roll). track for the 2010 RPM Challenge

a tricky song to describe, and maybe a little bit odd in structure, but i'm pretty happy with this one.

oh it is so much fun trying to decide who's fault it is that my life has turned out so pitiful (hint, it's mine!)

My sixth piece for RPM.
Composed on the line between Lydian and Locrian. Also, the beat's never quite where the meter is.

This Valentine’s Day, sing this song to your SO and there’s a good chance they’ll turn into your ex.

Oy. About 6 hours of work:
1.5 hours to write the lyrics/melody first thing in the morning
1.5 hours figuring out the harmonic progression…

Not to sell this piece short, but after yesterday's grueling session, I'm just happy to have written anything at all today.

A song I wrote for my Bride this Valentine Day's. She said it was better than any present. God is Good!

A love song of sorts, a" winter is finally over" song, and a song about traveling into the wild country.

A folk-rock tale about facing your fears and surviving to tell the tale.

"Face it, she's gone and not coming back, its time to move on" done in folk style with acoustic guitar and harmonica.

Sounded like a bit of discord in paradise to me, so this is how it ended up.

The flutey sounds are actually the sound of a damp sponge wiped up the neck of a guitar, sampled and played back on a keyboard.
Some real guitar appears towards the end of this piece.

We wrote it and recorded the basic bits in December, 2009, but I didn't add vocals for quite some time. It's a sketch of something that will end up on our second LP, whenever that comes into fruition.
For now, here it be.

This is a rough cut of one of the tracks I'm recording for this year's RPM challenge. It will sound way, way better than this when completely finished.

Track 5 from RPM 2010 "They Are Killers."
I actually feel like this one's a little sloppy... post-RPM I'm considering re-tracking all of the guitars on most of my songs to do a better release.

Went for the Salvation Army street corner band sound for this one. Tried to sound a bit intoxicated.

1. I wrote the opening part over the weekend.
