Hi Richard, the tuning I used for the Magic of Belief has much more than major or minor and I used almost all of the. The opening plays with the chords CDG, CEbG CEb^G (a "neutral" third about half way between minor and major) and CEG (except the E is a purer 3rd than 12 equal)
The main motive bottoms out at what my ears are telling me is a neutral interval against a D neutral chord (but I'm not 100% sure, I didn't work it out - could be D minor)

well this is a bit awkward, but i have been chatting with Nosda Cariad about the various plus and minus of sound settings ie reverb,,, sometimes i feel like i have used too much, as sort of a crutch. in this version the reverb has been toned down…

First of my rpm traks,, this year i am going to try to learn a bit about composing for midi orchestra, with that in mind i have began (in jan) to read several books on midi orchestration, orchestration and counterpoint,,, while these will probably…
Richard, I have enjoyed every second of your magical journey through midi. It has been utter bliss to hear all of them together.
Congratulations on a superb album.

RPM 2013 feat. Gary Fox instrumentation
quiet down now, world
bring the lights down, world
we're going to paint a little
pitch black moment
hush those city lights
those neon lullabies
we're off and dreaming with our
eyes wide open…

Dystopian Anthem

Together we strive
United, we divide
the night fire we've made
are ours to take
We gain what we earn
earn what we can take
family, we all share
In this world to create
very cool,, your sound/notes are rich and full, it all blends together very well,, seems like a very late night time, with the lights down low type of piece to me,,,
A noodle that turned into a doodle which turned into a song....thats what you get when you watch David Attenborough's Africa on TV................
No Rain (Lyrics)
The earth was scorched as dry as stone
nothing anywhere wanted to grow
the Devil…
As if I was a tree,
And would stand in the woods,
Taking the rain and the snow.
As if I was a tree,
Standing in the field,
Looking at the eternal movement of the clouds.
As if I was,
as if ...
A lil rocker influenced by some of my faves, Springsteen, Petty etc.. well i left my home and family
and made my way out west
i lost my job at the steel mill
im a hoping for the best
in this life
for my kids and wife
just outside of Davenport…
love it!!! bit of a magical feel, as this rolls over the headphones into the ears and on to the heart on a late friday eve,, the ending seems a bit abrupt,,, yes..no... planned,,perhaps i just a bit too old to get it? lovely piece r
FOUND IN THE MOVEMENT
She moves in a spinning reminder
A violent link to the past
Don't you dare try to define her
She might not be big, but she's fast
A release of God-given aggression
An arm near her head in defense
Somewhere just short…
wow,,, what a wonderful piece,, you play is wonderful (as of course it always is) but this time it's your storyline,,, that blows me away,,, it's ,,, hard to say,,, it's a poem for sure,,, a story/mini epic set to music, and then given life by your voice and your strings,,, really fine r

The pipes and the little Latin flourishes in the melody reminds my of Ennio Morocone. Only slightly though because it also sounds very unique :)
