There’s a few things going on here in this little all MIDI experiment. First, I wanted to
show an example of artistic clipping to go with my current posts in the forums on the
subject.
The kettle drums in this piece clip in to the red on their own track and then they are compressed and limited in to the yellow and bounced to a new track for the final mix.

The clipping happens around the 60hz range. So really what that does is help one to
feel the kettles, not just hear them.
It also adds tons of bottom. If you follow your analyzer, you will see no loss of dynamics on the low end. All the bass is covered by the kettles. From 60 - through to 100 Hz. The way to do this is to dupe the tracks and EQ them in to position.

The second test is Stereo spectrum and the way the instruments appear on stage.
I never really bothered much with panning and EQ’ing things in to certain positions,
The other test of stereo spectrum here includes a duplicate full mix track. Then I set
it 10 milliseconds behind the original wav.

The thing that put me on this road was a simple question, So I’ll ask YOU.
Why is it that us humans can distinguish between a live band and a real good audio system almost instantaneously?

The jam seemed to fit right in with my current CD project “Gunslinger” So, there it will
reside as the title track.

Peace,
~Geas

Nicely done. Awesome cinematic feel to it but somehow it makes me feel nostalgic! It's like it was written in the past. Crazy. Very cool. Very nice for an all MIDI production.

It's like the introductory music to a cowboy film and easy to imagine the wide open spaces and the big sky. Quite a performance Paul!
