This is my first effort with real bongos. I've been so inspired by Norm's talents, that I had to give it a try. I borrowed a set of bongos from my brother Asa.

A long over due changing of the acoustic strings led to this epic production. 40 tracks and 34 plug-ins. Good Gravy that's a boat load of tracks. All kinds of stuff happening.
Enjoy!

Epic and wild I say. I love this kind of overblown stuff sometimes. I am feeling the itch to go overblown on my next song (its still all in my head at the moment).

Hi folks,
It's good to back after RPM and the blackout of 2010.
A couple firsts here. I recorded this 100% with the computer. I never plugged in to a computer before.
I've always used a Roland VS machine and burnt my
songs/tracks to SCSI…
Post RPM jammin'. I don't feel much like cleaning up after RPM. Not yet anyway. I think my little Casio took a beaten and went out of tune. I did this arrangement with just the Casio, guitars and
harmonica, hence the annoying piano and strings…

Nice work! And way to go on the computer closet... basically a cajon. I use cajon quite a bit: the key to building one is to make the striking face out of very thin ("aviation grade") plywood, if you can get your hands on some. Well done!

I picked up on one of Norm's wonderful grooves.
I added some bass, guitar, horns, and a basic drum track. Kicker and snare with a few cymbols. I didn't want to walk on Norm's fine, fine, percussion.
Thanks Norm for allowing me the opportunity…

Some more good fun with Brian Bazeley and Jarvis.
I added some drums and some horns to Jarvo's noodling.
There's probably room for vocals if anyone is feeling froggy.
Thanks Brian and Jarvis

My first attempt at a Blumlein or Mid/Side recording. This one is actually a mid/side recording as I used a directional mic in combo with a figure 8 ribbon mic set at 90 degrees from the main mic. Thanks to Pat Broaders for the loan of the ribbon…
This song is not for everyone but I like it because its a live recording with a single instrument using infinity delay FX. (I turned on the loop delay at :09 after the guitar was flat on the floor.)
All the sounds are made with an acoustic bass…
"High Life" is a musical genre that originated in Ghana in the 1900s and spread to Sierra Leone, Nigeria and other West African countries by 1920. My friends from that part of the world consider this be the "go-to" rhythm for just about anything…
A test track of sorts.
I typically mix a track, bounce it out to my ipod and then go for a drive. The stereo in my truck is kind of boomy and if I get the bass wrong, I'll hear about it. This has been a matter of a certain amount of guesswork…
