The Impossible Chord

On youtube there’s a short video clip of guitarist Shawn Lane (R.I.P) executing an extremely difficult chord voicing that requires extensive finger stretching, which Shawn calls “the hardest chord in the world.” I altered the chord a little bit to make it easier and built this short jam around it (for the solo I used the Eight-Tone Spanish scale in E). I have a chapter devoted to this chord in my Underground Guitar Handbook.

Chords.... Easy... But hard at the same time.... We can make them hard out of choice.... But they should be easy.... Just a mode of expression... This track is superb! You make hard sound effortless!
