This is an oldie. Recorded in 2005. It was the first recording I finished on a DAW, but I'd played it a lot in the last band I was in (around the turn of the century). I think it was written in the mid 90s. It's about one of the casualties of…
Holy shit....another epic cut! What you couldnt extend it another 4 seconds to make it a full 6min? This is excellent work , Quadrophenia meets the boys of Lizzy. Your a marauder!
Rock instrumental. Recorded Christmas 2008.
I'd struggled with a DAW. I'd stopped recording. And then my lovely wife got me a Boss MBR for Christmas. I thought this little thing the size of a fag-packet would be a nice "scratch-pad" songwriting…
A cover of Larry Wallis's fine ditty (it's always been one of my favourite Dr Feelgood songs).
This was my second recording with my Boss MBR, recorded early 2009. It confirmed for me that I was a "standalone recorder" kind of guy, and there was…
I missed this one....Sweet playin Andrew. I love the sound of those double tracked rythym gtr....and the verb on the lead is perfect as well as tge playing.
I can't quite believe that I'm posting this, or that I've even recorded it. But I've played it like this sat on the sofa in the living room for many years, and I needed something to check out how to record a live "one vocal and one guitar" song…

A song about my wife. Recorded 2005.
I'd just taught myself how to play piano (badly).
I'd always wanted to be Freddie Mercury when I was younger... still got a bit of a ways to go.

**Now It's Done - A A J Russe**
I said it…
A cover of Justin Currie's Sleep Instead of Teardrops. Recorded 2010.
It has always been one of my favourite Del Amitri songs. I was strumming away at it one day and my missus said I should record it...
This is a remix of this song.
It was recorded in 2010, and I was in a hurry to post it elsewhere because I'm so fond of the song itself. But I've always hated the old mix - I lost the essence of the guitars and choirs during mastering because…

Big time "like". Such an expanse of history/experience/pathos captured in so few words.
I dealt with this on a much smaller scale in a song I called THE INAPPROPRIATE QUESTION.

Electric blues. Recorded 2007. I was learning how to use my DAW and trying to figure out how a one-man-band could get to sound like a bunch of old bluesers in a sweaty bar...

One of my two contributions to a "Beatlesfest" we had over on songcrafters.org a few months back.
I still can't believe I covered this... having done it though, it feels like nothing is sacred. And, more worryingly, I feel I might possibly…
This is a collaboration with a prolific chap called James Higgins (oldrottenhead on songcrafters.org), based on an instrumental of mine from a couple of years ago: http://alonetone.com/andyr/tracks/muletide
I was quietly minding my own business…

Did this one sometime in 2009 on a Boss MBR. I'd recently joined what became Songcrafters.org and PJ (Wiley) posted a bass/drum track for us ubiquitous blues guitarists to solo over.

Like the bruthas on the Southside of Chi town would say, "that white boys got some stank on him" Damn that some low down blues! We need to collab on a blues. I am convinced of this.

Started out by recording a single tone on the guitar and sampled other recordings on the loop. If you listen carefully you can hear the tone repeat itself for 420 times
I'm tempted (to try) to count them... I'm half imagining you KNOW it's 419 or 421 and you're waiting to see if someone does count them!! (And now you're wishing that is what you did!! LOL)

Somewhat inspired by king gizzard and the lizard wizard. I may have taken it too far experimenting with the vocal effects, but still had fun recording this
Not bad, 10 to 15 years to to get this one done Ha Ha. This was wrote tongue in
cheek. The story behind it is, a group of us used to meet up, taking turns whose house we used, have a chat, a bit of food, a few drinks ( ok then, more than…

Short violin phrases played then manipulated in process in conjunction with a filtered noise floor, variable oscillator and a voice sample, all mixed live in my Pure Data patch, this one inspired by tape looping. Created for Phase 2 of Sound…
I never know what to say on these... except "interesting listen"... And this one was... I've also discovered they make a good soundtrack to working at home... not what I was expecting at all!
We got motivated to write something a bit light hearted about our Covid-19 Times.... I hope you'll laugh and sing along with Roger , Colleen, Greg and Steve on this one... any maybe raise a glass of your personal moonshine!!!

I left my home in paradise when warning signs begun
With a member of my aging family
I left behind the trees so tall they almost blocked the Sun
And a lake so big it looked just like the sea
The wind blows cold through paradise in winter…
Oh yeah. What a song. Paints all sorts of images/stories in my head. But yeah, I end up yearning for the Paradise I recall myself... Faved, accidentally unfaved, and FAVED again! (Got a bit clicky there lol)
Just a run through in the cellar that turned out pretty cool til the end. I lost my way on the mandolin. The bass track was laid down later. Bless him for trying keep up with the trash I played at the end.
I'm not really sure what the lyrics mean, but I was happy that it would somewhat fit a long the other noises.
This track is the result of an experiment recording different drum sets on top of each other.

Damn....thats a gem.
Back for another listen to this beauty to end the night.....Thanks
Beautiful. A real love song right here.
Del Amitri.... I only know their one big hit, I presume, here in America. But you may have turned me onto their music a bit more.
Fantastic and inspired.

wow........ very well done.. pardon but i have to ask about the story,, is feels so old english in nature,,, what is the background?? most well done!!
This is incredibly fine. The mix is ridiculously great - haunting and fabulous!
Fun lil blues tune....has a Brian Setzer vibe without the rockabilly hooha.
Oh yes. Very nice ballad. Fave!
Great mix mate top track.
Nice rendition here. Curries music was a big influence this past year for me. I am glad someone else enjoys it also.
Always killer vocals.
Echoes of Thin Lizzy here. Nice bite on the guitars.
Great storytelling Andrew. Well worth many listens.

Sorry it was the late '60's, check out 'One Way Ticket' Still love to be in your band Andy.................... What a groove ...

Wow. Cool sounds.
Oh yeah. Dig this one. I have been drinking, though!
I find your stuff strangely compelling.
Love the feel of this one. Kinda trippy. It's got a Mamas and Papas vibe to it.
Oh yeah! That makes it mighty. Shame I can't fave it again!!
This jumps along nicely. Digging that slide.
Sounds like you have got the blues back :)
Hey! I missed this! Cool track.

Nice one. Loved the tinkly climax.
Awwww...yes... This put a great big smile on my face.
WOWWWW.... this is a fabulous song. "Shivers down the neck" fabulous. What a set of lyrics... did I say wow? Yep, WOW.

And this one is even weirder!! Cool. OK... I'm gonna follow you and check out some more of your stuff :)
Not sure what to make of this ... but I love it!
Wow... I've got a recording somewhere of Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull getting lost on a mandolin - he swears a lot more! ... this track's very cool.
It feels French to me... In a "Cote de Boeuf, vin rouge, frites, fromagerie, lescargot, ou est le bidet" kinda way
I wanted more when it stopped.
Big smile on my face - don't know why, exactly... but yes, the lyrics do fit the other noises.
