THIS IS THE OLD YEURGH MIX - THERE IS ANOTHER ONE HIGHER UP THE LIST NOW, FULLY LOVED BY AR. THIS ONE IS LEFT HERE AS A MONUMENT TO SOMETHING OR OTHER (AND IN CASE YOU PREFER IT)
Acoustic ghost story. Recorded 2010.
Easter 2010 I decided…
One of my two contributions to a "Beatlesfest" we had over on songcrafters.org a few months back.
I still can't believe I covered this... having done it though, it feels like nothing is sacred. And, more worryingly, I feel I might possibly…
Hmm, for some reason I did not have you flagged as "Followed" - Fixed!
Remember this one, great fest and a stunning tune! The guitar crunch and the vocal harmonies make this the best!
So I was locked in the broom-cupboard, checking out some old songs that need recording.
I'd just picked one and then suddenly this thing came out of nowehere. It started with one of those guitarist doodles that other musicians love so much…
New one from me. It's ended up as a bit of a "crying into yer beer at Bob's Country Bunker" sort of song lol...
I've been sat on these lyrics in some form or another for absolutely years. I first wrote them one very dark night a few years after…
First new one from me in a long time.
Kind of a love song, I guess.
Recorded in my new "studio" (3rd bedroom in the new house). Almost up and running now... shine and don't stop wondering!

**Shine - A A J Russe**
On my way…
A new original from me. Another one-voice, one-guitar, "live" performance in my broom-cupboard. This time it's the good ole tin guitar.
I wrote this one in 2002 during the "dark years" lol. I've ummed and aahed over the years on whether to…

A tale of keeping your head above the water, or not...
Recorded Jan-Feb 2011.
I wrote it many years ago, never thought I'd ever do anything with it.
I intended to record this with just an acoustic and my new EDB (electric upright bass…

Easter 2010 I decided…
I can't quite believe that I'm posting this, or that I've even recorded it. But I've played it like this sat on the sofa in the living room for many years, and I needed something to check out how to record a live "one vocal and one guitar" song…
Pop-rock song. Recorded 2009.
I wrote this several years earlier and rehearsed it with the last band I was in.
The recording was my first "serious" project on my Boss MBR, I was stunned that you could do something like this on a little silver…
Great stuff Andrew. Have a listen to my solo stuff...Tiggy Acworth. Many thanks for so many kind words...keep singing and eventually the world will hear!

That be some good production right there. Dag nabit! I enjoy the different looks of the verse sections as the progresses. And the big vocal harmonies...I thought that ac gtr lick was gonna fly off into django territory.....always fun listening to your tunes. I learn something everytime.

A few months back we had a "Beatlesfest" on songcrafters.org.
I contributed this and Yesterday.
This one's a bit of a departure for me. Not the song itself - it's been one of my favourites ever since I was tiny (I preferred Robin Gibb's…
Oh yeah, I love me some Beatles! Any Beatles, even the trippier stuff (maybe especially, haha). This one is certainly a fave of mine, and you give a great rendition here. I did not know Robin Gibb had a version of this, dang Imma have to check that out too! You definitely have the soulfulness down, as I feel that's what the song entails. Great great great! =D
Lyrics/Vocals - OldRottenHead (over at Soundcrafters.org). Music - Dave Berry. Recorded on Boss BR-1200, Epi Sheraton, Bass, Synth. Drums are played by me on my new Roland HD-1 (I have had it two weeks, timing is a little shaky, bloody hard this…
FOLKS - it's even more impressive than Mr Berry has let on!!
I've just found out over on songcrafters.com that he recorded this by taking orh's vocal track ALONE and creating this from that.
Says a lot for orh's vocal, but wow, Dave - what you've managed here (especially with orh's "er.. beats per minute? somewhere between 80 and 120" lol) is just stunning. Hats off to you sir...

Wow - just read the details, actual drumming!! Nice one, it's not as easy as we guitarists imagine, is it?
Only two weeks? That's amazing. I reckon you'll have it fully under control in another two! :-)

A love song....about this world of wonder that i am so fortunate to have found, or it found me.
yea we climb from the rubble
of confusion and some pain
we are the wonder of the world
and many streets we walked of bitter pills and rain
and we…
the clock on the wall is watching the window
the shades are at half mast for what i do
there are regrets just over that horizon
but i know i know i can count on you
i think of a time when i was unwilling
the dark days i counted with a mark on…
Reg has got a little soppy since he met his new girl, the widow Desirea. His pretty sure she's the one but the old fears keep rising. He knows he has to put the past behind him if any relationship is ever going to stand a chance of working…
Had the blues in Alabama
Had the blues in Texas too
Had the blues all over
Now I 'm givin' em to you
And if you don't want em
You know what you can do
You wont find me I'm goin' ta run and hide away from you
Because I see trouble
Trouble…
Mellow morning mist fall
Melting into day
This summer said son, you are lazy
Don’t follow any example, break every rule
After awhile you’ll find it’s so easy to do
Just stay within the limits of your love
Soon the air will turn colder…
This is a live cover of a Ralph Mctell song , telling the story of a coach tour to the seaside town Brighton just before World War 1 , thinking the war would be over in weeks
I thought the only Ralph McTell I knew was Streets of London - turns out I know this one too!
Can't remember the original, but this is a fabulous recording.
Classy. When I was a teenager I wished my parents had had some brothers for me (I'm a big Bee Gees fan) - there's something about siblings making music together.
Love it.
Nice one.
There's a few places in the vocal where I'm thinking "how did he do that? I've been trying to nick that vibe from Ian Anderson for weeks now... and I couldn't manage it!"
A cover of Justin Currie's Sleep Instead of Teardrops. Recorded 2010.
It has always been one of my favourite Del Amitri songs. I was strumming away at it one day and my missus said I should record it...
@ facemask - there's time yet! I hope... lol
There's a LOT of competition though... and to be honest, I only really started saying what I wanted when I gave up the idea of becoming famous!!
Ok, Who HASN'T had the fantasy about the hot librarian?
This was originally intended to be sung by a friend of mine with a much higher range, but a massive earthquake disrupted the schedule. I wound up singing it down an octave, trying to do…

Brilliant! Utterly brilliant... Untapped potential... lol... priceless
