We have an old and senile cat with a dodgy thyroid gland who is a total pain in the bum. I know she can't help it but god she annoys me, so this song is therapy. It's a love/hate thing. Recorded as part of RPM 2010
Sounds awesome in my car too.
I tell my passengers that I wrote this song, and they all think I'm lying. It's worrying, but also pretty flattering! :-)
Must say I loved this album. Just the right amount of Irony, catchy as ebola, and sounds good and raw. Gotta run and bite, bite a BLT. Thanks for making this.

I have a cat that loves to sit on my lap every time I sit down at my PC. I can't find the right lyrics to write about her, but I'm sure I'll find the inspiration after hearing this song. Laughed when I heard it.

Final version
Day 28
Anyone else still writing songs?
this is the result of trying to listen to too many mixes in one day. Sometimes it's just easier to record something else.
Hi Stu, what a fantasic RPM. Every track a gem and unnervingly authentic. Feel like I've been listening to a Smithsonian archive release. Glad you used One Thing, it's achingly beautiful. Standout for me is Take Yourself to Bed. Even gives Ralph Stanley a run for his money. And Chicken! cracks me up. Brilliant.
Sassy Nation version!
Sister Savage and Mr Sandbags collaborated on the original of this wonderful heartbreaker of a song. I've been playing it on the guitar the last few days and it always seemed to come out with a grittier tone, so i asked…
Over the weekend Reg had gone back to his home town where he come from and met up with a few of his friends from whey back when. He found that he seemed like stranger. He was sitting telling Elvis about his weekend. Elvis felt sorry for Reg because…
This is just another middle of the road pile of trot, this time about the amazing instant classics I write, but am so protective of that I daren't let any of you hear. No one will ever hear them. Sorry, but I'm afraid this shite will just have…
Had a quick spin through all tracks, everyone a winner. Brilliant RPM. Will give more considered listen later. Sorry about previous garbled message - got a bit overexcited!
Cover of the Joy Division classic, with a little drum'n'bass thrown into the mix
This version from September 2010
The youtube version is my original recording going back to 1997.
You've really caught the vibe of this without it being a slavish cover. Excellent. My fave JD track ever. I remember rushing to my local record store the day it came out!
this is a song that came from the pain of dealing with idiots that just dont get it on a daily basis. newest mix tries to deal with vocal vs instruments imbalance.
this song never really came together because of my flawed vocal rig. everything is mixed weird to try to compensate. K.G. did his best and brought it a long way.
With his lottery money Reg has invested in becoming a funk star. The other reg came up with the tune and Reg jumped all over the thing......come and get funky with thetwoReg
Duh! Just noticed yer now Sheffield based, so I guess UK. Another fantastic hunk o' funk here. Love it. Wish I could get the James Brown/Bobby Byrd vocal thing going! Sound like we have a few of the same sample packs too...
Reg has been up to his womanizing ways and has ended up dancing on his own. reg came up with another great funky tune and Reg had to jump all over again. Hope you Funk IT.........
Hi Tim, just listened to your RPM album - excellent stuff. Personal faves 40 Days, Flood, Donkey and this fine rockin' tune. Glad there's someone else out there fond of a fuzzy guitar!
A typical folk song.
Written and recorded in about an hour for the 24 hour album (attempted on March 13th). Excuse roughness and vocal glitches, it was 2am and this was my first full take.
Thanks to montgomeru for his chord suggestions…
Hold On- Ok, this one is really hard. Not in a rock sense, but other ways. Musically, this song really dances on the line of schmaltz, and a few times, trips over it. I had a hard time singing some of the lines, since I don’t have a pretty voice…
Great tune, Gary. Reminds me a bit of the Boo Radleys. Vocals are really nice, wouldn't know you struggled with any of it if you hadn't said. And personally I don't detect an ounce of schmaltz!

Such a classic. Love how you bring britpop in to the 21st century. This is such a college tune!

Shame about the crash if this magical tune is anything to go by. Love the subtle mandolin and the mouth trumpet!
Beautiful guitar sound, beautiful track

Cambridge UK or US? Still a good reggae scene in UK city. This funks like a mother! Right up my street.
Oooh gorgeous! Closed my eyes and drifted off to a very good place listening to this. Beautiful

What is it about late night recording that adds melancholy beauty to certain tunes? Lovely feel, great song
