Another song from the archive... Written about a friend who somehow seemed to come out of her general sad manner... Thoughts go back to a lunar eclipse when the girl I was standing next to to watch it (way back in college) disappeared from sight…

Entry for Zan's Current Events Compo 2010 on Trax in Space. I was inspired by the news of the solar transit of Space Shuttle Atlantis and the International Space Station on may 16. It was covered in global media, and what *really* sparked my interest…

Thanks launched! It's always nice to get positive feedback on the less "crowd-pleasing" pieces. :)

So there I was, trying hard to complete a big production that I've been working on for ages, and I was getting nowhere. In frustration I started composing this little thing, and it quickly evolved into a nice piece of music all of its own. Funny…

Thanks for the comments! Yeah, reefwalker, the "vocals" are in fact a great voice-like synth in Reason. But I HAVE actually hidden a sample of real laughter somewhere in the mix. Props to anyone who can find it. :P

Spontaneous little ditty about carelessness and always staying on the move. Quite different from the murky, depressing trite I always seem to end up composing. This started out as a loose solo guitar jam around a simple chord sequence, and…

Archival stuff from my distant past with former bandmates in Scartaglen. A set of traditional Irish tunes. Rescued from a cassette tape done at a concert back in the early 90's. Myself on Uilleann pipes and whistle. Mike dugger on guitar and fiddle…

I picked up on one of Norm's wonderful grooves. I added some bass, guitar, horns, and a basic drum track. Kicker and snare with a few cymbols. I didn't want to walk on Norm's fine, fine, percussion. Thanks Norm for allowing me the opportunity…

One of four tracks I did for the August 2009 24 hour challenge. This was the last track I did, and it shows. I was pretty tired after finishing 3am chill, and had to mess round for ages mangling loops and trying out different things before…

This is such a great 24 album - I can't believe I didn't fave it all last year!!!! What was I thinking? I guess I was knackered! Hearing it properly now, with some distance from the madness, it's tight, clever, classy, and cohesive. Just so cool!

One of four tracks I did for the August 2009 24 hour challenge. This was the second track I did. I'm an old trance head, so I had to have a go at making a trance tune during the 24 hours. This had the advantage that I could stretch out the breakdown…

This moves along so wonderfully. Like a smooth train filled with busy commuters, but remaining serene.

Really nothing more than some voice leading practice. Unfortunately, I had no keyboard or orchestral samples when I did this, so I used Lilypond and TiMidity++ and step programmed it in a text editor. I've since bought Cubase and EastWest/QuantumLeap…

very 18th century classical in sound,,, a very clean sound (when i try to mix multiple tracks of this type of instruments it often seems muddy to me, but this is clear),, are you by chance a Haydn or Mozart fan?,, really nice,, you give me inspiration to try something like this well played R
