My evening challenge: compose and record a piece in an evening. I stitched together a couple of demos and added a virtual Harry Partch instrument.

My brother Tomas recorded our Niece Clara improvising this tune, and in light of the lyrics then asked any one to join in and add to it.

Love it! The title made me click and I wasn't disappointed - calming and charming, mournful and free!

Backwards acoustic! In synch with the beat! How did he do that? I was messing with the acoustic and it was sounding too '67 for me, so I decided to throw a hip-hop beat on it. I kind of like the holes in it, as well as the harmonies. It doesn…

Another of the three songfight inspired titles. Painted Tense (the title) actually came from a band name generator website. I thought it might make a good song title so I submitted it to the RPM HQ person doing the name-from-a-hat picking. I would…

ooh, love the fun chord bounces here, very enjoyable... sort of unclassifiable, as if F. Liszt did ragtime boogie. The recording sounds a little "dark" or muffled, may need to boost the treble to get more sparkle on the high keys. Nice piece here!
