I had myself a dream last night
As I tossed and turned in bed
The window was open wide
The street noise jangled, in my head
.
I was dreaming of a better time
It was all so clear to me
Wind whistled through the pine trees…
It’s like floating down a river
When you’re not quite in control
That river’s going to take you
Only where it wants to go
So you reach out with conviction
At debris along the way
That river’s going to take you
If you give up and say…
Mode ?? Marvellous Greg , you have this fantastic knack of writing a song that you just have to listen too ... then Love ... then listen to again ... and love again ... simple isn't it ... NO ?!?!?

Cool sounds and fabulous lyrics. Over the last few days I've been sharing this very message in various forms in various places... That's probably why I like it so much... And I've come across others saying the same thing... It might not be filtering through to the media (at least not the stuff I'm seeing/hearing)... but then it's not very news-worthy! ... But if there's a bunch of us ordinary people thinking and saying this and similar... then I'm feeling quite encouraged :)
My wife Rita mentioned that she had not heard my dulcimer on any music recently, so I tuned it up and wrote First Morning Light. A little Low D Irish Whistle flavored it just a bit.

I left my home in paradise when warning signs begun
With a member of my aging family
I left behind the trees so tall they almost blocked the Sun
And a lake so big it looked just like the sea
The wind blows cold through paradise in winter…

Oh yeah. What a song. Paints all sorts of images/stories in my head. But yeah, I end up yearning for the Paradise I recall myself... Faved, accidentally unfaved, and FAVED again! (Got a bit clicky there lol)

we blended effortlessly,

There's not a drop of RICH MAN'S BLOOD
in the puddles of this war.
But the blood that's spilled's become a flood
of the hungry and the poor.
There is not a trace of RICH MAN'S BLOOD
in the bags that hang beside
the beds of legless soldiers…
I thought it would be fitting to post this today, on Memorial Day, as a tribute to my friend William Easley, as well as all who have fought and died in wars, American or otherwise.
Sometime back in the 60's William (Billy from here on) heard…

New one from me. It's ended up as a bit of a "crying into yer beer at Bob's Country Bunker" sort of song lol...
I've been sat on these lyrics in some form or another for absolutely years. I first wrote them one very dark night a few years after…
For Someone extremely special.
And for those that it might help.
Thanks to Dave Purssord for Playing Lead for me.
Thanks to St Mary’s for allowing me to record this live in the Church.
And Thanks to all you all here.

Lyrics inspired by Albert Einstein? Lady . . . You got style!
Refreshing. I like the contrast between the playful sound of the music and the seriousness of the topic.
