I like what you're doing with mandolin these days. Something I'd like to do more with but a) it's tuned so weird!! and b) the neck is dinky for my short fat fingers.
Sure have that same feeling of summer flying by! Good to hear your beautiful voice and lovely song here. I really like this one! Pensive and melancholy. Lovely
Pack a bag and head out west
Change of clothes and leave the rest

Slow it down to a steady pace
Forget about the human race

This is a live cut from an NPR radio broadcast back in 1988 while my Irish Trad group Scartaglen was on one of its first east coast tours. Found recently on a cassette tape. Musically this was one of my favorite periods in the history of the band…
I stopped back for a second listen. It's even better this time.
You have a lot going on in the song, and it's all going in the same direction.
You really know how to build a song!
My arrangement of an American traditional tune with tons of variations on title, lyrics and tune. I went for a little delta feel with some light slide on the guitar, and harmonica along with the banjo... definitely strange but I think it works.
Here's a song I recorded a couple of months ago when I had the flu ... as the voice reveals :)
Recorded early in the morning,in the bathroom, using the built-in mics on my boss br800.
Just a rough version of a song I plan to record properly during this coming February's RPM Challenge.
