This is a pretty simple tune. Its been sitting around for a while because I kept thinking that I was going to add more to it or change it up a bit. That never happened, so here it is. Any suggestions or comments appreciated. :)
I imagine this music playing in a bar sometime in the future, probably in the background while cybernetic bar patrons interface with one another in full view of the world's sensor network.

Brilliant track description! Sums up my feelings! It's like walking in to a club in outer space and immediately wondering if your shoes are cool enough. Out there! Out there! Out there!

My first upload for the 2010 RPM Challenge! I wanted to make a mean-sounding, minimal, instrumental groove track, and this is what I came up with. I tried a bunch of different bass lines, but they all made it sound too busy.
Another collaboration between me and guitarist Kerry Hoke. Kerry provided me with four guitar loops. I arranged the loops, added some effects, played a sampled upright bass, programmed some drums, and blended it all together.

I like it! I especially like that melody line. The tone and rhythm are both cool too and the building up and layering of additional elements as it goes (like towards 2:50 etc) is cool.

Some interesting ideas in this. In places, it sounds like there's some similarity to a band called Greater Than One. (Check them out if you haven't! They made industrial tunes in the late 80's.)
Might be fun to slowly fade in the drums behind the first dialog sample, playing with the EQ for the drums along the way. I wouldn't mind hearing the other sound you initially bring in with the drums warped a bit more as you play it... maybe mess with the resonance or add a ring shifter effect. I particularly like the forlorn piano notes... you could almost make a song out of that, very minimal muted drums, and some wispy/echoing atmospheric noises.
Sitting around in my shop a couple of days ago with the Goodall and the Zoom H4N. First time I've really messed with using the internal mics on the H4N in multitrack mode
Mining the archives a bit. This is an alternate take of my "Jimi Jam" from a couple of years ago. Live to 2 tracks with the Jamman. Really only sounds OK when cranked up loud enough that your eardrums threaten to meet in the middle. LOL!!
Our sun is in a long, cool, quiet period right now. But average ocean temps are the highest ever, and polar ice and glaciers are melting at an alarming rate. Something is going on here.
From the archives. Traditional Irish slow air. Myself on the Uilleann pipes with synth backing. This was recorded at a concert here in Weston back in I think '92. Originally recorded on an ancient 4 track machine and then transferred to cassette…
you are like the rain that falls with the snow
or is it the other way around
i dont know
all i know is i love you
and cant get above you
it is driving with no place to go
the muscle and the bone i find
that keeps my heart in line

[Thanks to Helen and Colin for coming to my aid with the warblings! :) ]
When You Least Expect It
And you're out to dry
And its all too hectic
Thats when it comes x 2
And it feels electric
And you feel alive
Cos when you least expect…
Rough sketch of a proposed dreamy 12 string piece that I couldn't pull off on the 12 string so did this quick electric version with vocal pads. Not sure of the recording quality- sounds OK in my cans and kinda crappy on my monitors. Recorded march…

Great 'chewable' sounds, yummy! :)
I like this a lot! Industrial coolness!
Really enjoyed that. It just filled me up. Brilliant.
Ominous and deeeep!
Awesome groove. Builds a little like that the theme tune from a Guy Ritchie film.
Crunchy!

Quite a mood you created there!

Wonderful track! A couple of very minor rough spots, but the tune comes across quite well.
Fantastic job! I can feel the Spanish sun when I listen to this.
This has a great mellow feel to it... felt carried along by the tune!
Okay, this just completely kicks ass. Love the timbres.
I dig it. Plenty of things going on to hold interest throughout.
