it is a winter blanket of snow. it smothers life. it attempts to silence all sound. however, small ghosts of music escape. they always find each other. every winter they dance together. they are the notes of christmas past. 0x0

Hi IC42,
Use Cubase engine with seperate composition
software- 'Onyx arranger'.
When composing , i have two apps open at
the same time. The sequencer passes data
via virtual midi cable to the cubase mixer.
VSTi - Nexus , Sampletank , M51 , Jupiter.
vst - waves collection.
Use Melodyne for vocals.
Adobe Audition for editing cuts.
T-tracks 3 for mastering.
Protection until time.

the sweet and sorrowful song of my favorite indian instrument ,the sarangi, the indian cello, three major chords, and 32 sympathetic strings,i needed to go to india in order to learn how to play, studying with a guru,in jiaphur,in the rajastan,i still…
an instrument of intrigue... a bit more nasal than the european cello, giving it a bit more bite and character. Nicely played and recorded, and that last hanging note before returning really catches the attention. Very enjoyable listen. Is that a separate sitar in the background, or the resonance of the sarangi? I have learned new things, thank you!

as if we are watching the wash of arpeggiated textures slowly roll galactic soap suds down the pillars of the Eagle Nebula. gorgeous slow experiment.

I wanted to play more directly with noise of various kinds so this piece focuses less on techniques and fancy plugins and more on selection & arrangement of sounds.
I spent many hours going through Reaktor ensembles I've downloaded searching…
It is a long journey down a corridor of alien devices. they come alive and dance as I pass by them. I would like to touch them, however, I cannot seem to move my arms, as if they are strapped to the rolling bed. The constant pulse of the EKG monitor next to me reassures me that I am alive and not dreaming. Something seems to enter my brain and create strange sensations and noises and colors that I cannot control.
Very cool experiment here, that is both evocative and disorienting... excellent choices of sound and excellent editing to create an auto-writing story before my eyes.

slow ride. the reflection of the electronic trees drift slowly across the train window, as you watch the ice crystals form on the glass. memories of her slowly fade with the setting sun. the lights of the outpost approach, and it is time to prepare for another night at work.

I read about the technique, used by Steve Reich, of playing multiple copies of the same audio at different speed to create phase differences.
I decided to do a little experiment and built myself a Reaktor ensemble using 3 granular sampler units…
cannot tell Reich from wrong here, the overlapping music waves ebb and flow, and leave shells of beauty on the shore of my mind. a wonderful experiment, a sideways fugue, perhaps.
It is a long walk down a lonely path. The direction seems clear at first, but as you think about the events that triggered the walk, alarm bells fire in your head. Some things just do not make sense yet. It is best to be concerned. Question the direction. Perhaps things are not as they seem.
This is the story that the music tells me.

It is not a frantic escape. It is a well-thought-out plan. The drums set the pace. However, it is a long tunnel to escape through, and the path seems to only lead down. The music draws pictures in my mind.

it is a boot-up process in slow motion. the computer electronics com alive with electricity. control circuits awaken and begin to divert messages to new areas of the motherboard. slowly the entire board comes to life. and just as the main screen is ready to fire up, the human trips on the power cord, and the music stops. It is a good build of syncopated noise sculpted into rhythms. good to the last electron.

The guitar work soars like a hungry hawk, over a hot desert's rocky bed strewn with complex drum rhythms. Expert playing of adrenaline music.

Dichotomy and harmony, hand in hand. Cool blue washes over the warmth of amber. The criss-crossing and melding of major and minor chords leave us anticipating where this will go next... all the way to the end. Well conceived, well played.

I'm learning to 'listen' to the 'flow' of life all around me and not get so caught up in little things that don't really matter.
Learning to enjoy! Life is good...
The river runs
and i look into it
i see myself
in a million faces there…
Very gentle guitar work and rolling chords that buoy and support your nice flowing singing... really matches well to the idea of 'river'. Calming and heartwarming. Well done.

Very cool piece of music and concept. I think you could add a little more to this too... some touches of echoes on the end of a few lines, some extra "ear candy" here and there. For example, you have a place where you hit and hold the high note "life..." and it turns into a synth... that was really good.

Well now, this is actually a very old track, made back in March '09 and not that long after I started learning piano.
I was learning a very simple 12-bar blues piece and getting bored with the piano sound I started messing about with the Logic…
done back in 2006, in my old dreary toronto apartment (i dislike toronto i think).
i don't really like it that much, too repetitive, but i need content up, and others have commented on their enjoyment of this particular song.
many paths. never sure which way the paths will take us. intriguing choice to paint the backdrop with children, and add the rhythms of the chain link fence. sparse, thoughtful, wistful. well written and sung.
Left over audio from "How to Glu"
This one is about power and resistence.. which I find to be quite sexy when I think about it.
Instrumentation: distorted and clean acoustic guitar, swords, tabla, synth, drum programming, clapping, vocals.
crunchy steamroller. Delivered with a soft snarl. Great music, especially liked the beauty-break in the middle, falling back into angst for the end. However, there is something ironic about a song entitled coup d'etat, which slowly fades out. :-)
Your English is excellent, and lyrics flow nicely. Your voices pour over the pop music like warm syrup. Nice instrumentation, crisp and clean. Very sweet music.

soft gently meandering cotton candy clouds get caught between the white and black keys that jut up out of the arpeggio sea like whalebones.

oh, nice! As Bethan says, I like your added "aa-h" harmonies, very cool. Really interesting music too, this was a fun listen and story in the lyrics.
Light and airy pop, as your voices float on a warm Summer breeze. Nice singing, inflection and control.
soft, slow, ambient blues... the best kind. tasty guitar work from MMI as well, fits perfectly.
