Okay Andrew R. , this ones for you bud. Had a little fun with it in the intro. That was the surprise.
I put the bass line down and arranged the drums Saturday morning and returned later that night about 10:00 pm . I worked until 2 am and laid…
I was finally able to finish this one up over this past week. Like always I am never satisfied but I have come to a point where I just tell myself enuff is enuff and move on to the next song...pheww! Hopefully it sounds good on everyone elses…
Awesome song. I like this version, loving the wah guitar in the left channel. You got good taste in music! I love the cover of this by the band Rare Earth. Good cover!
Having more fun with Hendrix. I tried to stay true to the original as far as using no overdubs. Just one guitar, bass, drum and vocal track. Kind of used a mix approach and used a bit from the record and a bit from his live performance in Winterland…
Yes. Captain Beyond was remnants of Iron Butterfly, Rod Evans original vocalist for Deep Purple(One of my favorite vocalists ever), and johnny Winter. You nailed it. Psychedelic Jazz Rock mostly. They're one of my all time faves. Check out live at montreaux on youtube with Captain Beyond.
Thanks for stopping by
Peace

Well done. Curious how royalties work when covering music for free? Do you have to pay anyone anything? Hendrix is awesome.
Good cover. Out of Hendrix I have I don't know this song. The riffs remind me of Dancing madly Backwards by Captain beyond. Though almost without a doubt Hendrix did it first. Captain beyond was 1971 I think.

YESSIRREEE!
This is the bizness. I knew you could pull it off :)
Particularly love the bridges ("That's why") and how they slam into the chorus. Always loved those bits...
And the solo, and the guitar on the last chorus/out - sounds like you've got walls of plexis rattling the control room windows.
... and lol at sticking EXP on the front of it.
This one needs a FAVE of the FAVES button.

I threw this one together tonite/early am...yawnnnnn. Not an exact replica but always a tribute to Jimi's music. I was originally turned on to do this by some new free vst effects I found on the net. A cool fuzz face vst that is very realistic…

I came back for a 2nd listen ... I think you're a good player. Not really into covers unless they are redone and reshaped into something original. I like your voice and pretty good production quality. I think you could have stepped the lead up a bit ... let it rip at the end ... maybe a bit more volume and drive. Really good though

Down by the banks where the…

Leave your best behind
